The pressure has crept on us some what but with the way we've been defending of late it's understandable, apparently Hughes is back in contention( he'll do well to top the own goal he scored at fratton park) as is dunk, haven't heard of any other injuries but Elliot limped off last wk, not sure if nml will get a look in but I suppose that depends how for he is.

I'm going for a 2-2 draw.

Heheheheh...

This will be 0-0. We've scored six (yes, SIX) goals away from home all season but have managed to keep four clean sheets in a row.

Probably the greatest own goal ever scored.

I'm up for Saturday, really looking forward to hosting Pompey. We're due a win soon and I'm hopeful it could be Saturday.

We need to win one of the two home games this week, but I'm extremely nervous about this one, so would take a point. They seem to have found some form defensively in the last few games too.

I'll be following this one from Gujarat. About to head out to "the Great Rann of Kutch" to seek Sandgrouse and Bustards. It's currently 34 degrees (3 p.m. local time) and the state is dry so I'll be tuning in with a cup of tea tonight. I note that Richard has just thrown Nathaniel Mendez-Laing into the mix - which should liven up the afternoon. That said, I'm more interested in getting back to clean sheets.

Car crash of a first half. Bang goes my clean sheet. 4-1 down at half time and glad I shared my ticket with a friend and headed for the sunshine. Could do with a drink right now. :(

What an absolute shambles. Never felt as angry as I'm feeling right now for quite a long time. Well, I'll try and keep saying to myself this - it's only football, it's only 22 men chasing a ball

You're certainly one of the luckiest U's today. Couldn't have picked a better match to miss Alan.

Today was embarrassing and Pompey could have scored more tbh. What I find strange is not the 6 they put past us but the fact they had only scored 6 away goals before today. I mean, we 're not talking about some part-time non-league side but Pompey :dk:

They have been genuinely awful away though. I've seen them a few times this year, and they've not been good at all. Hoping Taylor will flick something on.

Obviously that was pre-Tubbs (must be about his 7th/8th goal against us?) but today is inexcusable. We're talking about a team who started the day level on points with us, regardless of who they are.

Well anyone who wants a laugh tonight just watch the defending for the Portsmouth goals on the fls, truly shocking.

Money got his team selection wrong and after listening to his radio interview regarding Hughes he doesn't seem to think it's wrong putting him at rb, Hughes wasn't bloody good enough at rb in the conference let alone in lg2, the less I say about Ryan fucking bird the better.

I'm off for a directors.

Oh another thing about dickies interview, He always makes the opposition sound like Barcelona, no point saying Portsmouth should be top of the lge, their not, they were on the same amount of points as us, patronising shithouse.

As much as I love DD, and will always be grateful to the man for bringing league football back to The Abbey, this over the top opponent praising thing he does is driving me crazy. I would get it if he doesn't do it so frequently, as some side really look better than their current league position suggests, but he's doing it after every match now.

The man simply doesn't like to admit that he gets it wrong too, like every body else does, and he'll continue to defend his players no matter what. Also, I believe he reads our forum, and the more some players are criticised, the more he'll do his best to pick 'em up for his starting eleven.

Well that game was lost before we even started...Hughes at full back and Bird upfront, what the hell was that all about? Having said that our defence did all they could to make the prophecy come true. Truly shocking performance, even the Pompey fans were stunned into near silence as the goals flew in!

Really hard to put that into words. To only score six goals away from home all season and then equal that in one game is ridiculous! Such an enjoyable day from our perspective, everything seemed to click. Wallace was chief tormentor, Tubbs too clever and the Cambridge players couldn't cope with Taylor or Dunne.

There was a slight niggle thinking we'd blow it when it was 4-2 and we came under some pressure but after that comical fifth goal, we could have scored more than the six we did. Unbelievable!

Right, dust now settled.

Portsmouth were excellent yesterday and their three big players (Tubbs, Taylor and Wallace) all played really well. It was clear we were low on confidence and Pompey played on that from the off and tore us a new one.

But for all that, we were shit and I've not seen us play that badly for a long time and certainly not under Dickie. We actually looked ok going forward but every time we had to defend we sort of..... didn't.

Frankly we don't have the quality of player to play as open as we're doing presently, partly as the defence just isn't confident enough individually or collectively. The keeper is therefore taking a bearing each week. Simply, we need to play ugly for a few games and remember how to defend again.

I've not seen us 4-1 down at half time since Grays Athletic away in 2005(?). And we could have drawn that day, finished 5-3. Was a surreal experience and not one I want to go through again in a hurry.

Anyway, as Jez George said once: you're never as good as you think you are when you win and never as bad as you think you are when you lose. We're crap at the moment but we're not that crap generally. But we could do with getting those sort if performances out of our system quickly. It was nothing short of embarrassing.
