We got Boro away in the 1st round. No chance of progression but atleast we've not been there in a while.

Typical Salford get Leeds at home, so that's the sky game sorted straight away. Also noticed Vale and Stoke were only a ball apart that would have been interesting especially at the bet 365 after what Stoke did to Vale park.

Walsall away. How exciting for them.

We haven't won a cup game since 2013-2014. In this or the FA Cup. The last time we went this long (6 seasons) we ended the hoodoo with a run to the fifth round and Old Trafford. I'd be happy for that to happen again.

Brentford away. Pretty decent draw, Griffin Park is a classic away day that'll belong to the history books in a years time. Not exactly a tough one to get to for most of our fans either.

On the basis that we are the 2rd worst team in the competition, better to be beaten somewhere like that than by Forest Green at home.

So close to a full on derby but wasn’t to be so a localish tie against Burton will have to do.

Not a bad one, very winnable and we beat them last year in the Checkatrade.

Its not winnable If we play our full strength team we would smash you and you know that. Remember we got to the semis last year.
However, i think clough will rotate here so it may in truth turn out to be winnable for you if we play the kids.

Preston at home, god knows if it’s winnable depends on if our teams decent this year and if they play a weakened team.

Away to Barnsley.

As is normal in the League cup we get a team that fall in that narrow gap between teams we have a chance of beating and teams big enough that it would be enjoyable to play them.

At least it's away this time, so I don't have to watch it and can save a wee bit of cash.

Plymouth away for the second time in 6 years, last time their fireworks festival drove the prices of all the hotels up and nearly all the hotels in Plymouth were taken. My mate and I had to split £160 each to stay in the Jurys Inn - Literally no other options.

I remember to this day the receptionist asking us "Here for the Fireworks?" - with me replying "Fireworks?! We're here to watch Plymouth Argyle v Orient in the football" Which left her totally bemused.

And now we have to go there twice on a Tuesday in 8 weeks.

EFL I've missed you

Oh and now I really hate fireworks..............................

Home to Donny, might be a decent crowd. No idea if either us or them will play a full side, just hope we progress and get 'a money draw'.

Colchester away. About as bad as it could have been. Not that they'll be thrilled either.

Average league one outfit at home = winnable unless you’ve turned into Barcelona this summer.

Not at all. But we are light years ahead of your shower. And we have got more than enough to smash a team that nearly dropped into the Conference.

Hard to say what I'd rather. Leeds beating Salford won't really knock the halo off Salford's heads much, Leeds being beat on telly off a fantasy football team would be amusing but would just up the tempo of the media circus around Salford. I'd be satisfied with a Leeds win but more so if Salford beat Leeds, only to be beaten by Morecambe in the second round.

Now the seasons here, I'm just resigned to this being the Salford division in the eyes of the media. So little victories for them such as an opening day and caravan Cup win won't matter all that much just so long as the media circus ends this season.

My hope is that Gary Neville will say something racist and lose his job on the BBC and suddenly they'll be a bit squeamish about wanking themselves into a coma over his team.

Yeah totally smashed our showers second string last season...

It’s a game we should have no fear in, your a mid table side in a league above, maybe the couple of years in the Championship has made you feel billy big bollocks but your beatable... as are we.

As for nearly dropping into the conference (we weren’t really that close at all) this is likely to be a totally different animal, no longer hamstrung by the cancer we’ve endured and with a completely new squad and management.

You’ll probably be slight favs with the bookies but to suggest your unbeatable is laughable.

You managed to get to the semis... Don’t know how as the quality gulf between you and Forest/Boro is miles further than the gulf between Vale and Albion if that’s unbeatable.

Its from been a well run football club and having success at our level. It's not big time as you put it it's simply hard work and achieving. Something a club of your size once did, and could do again.

I never suggested we are unbeatable but I am simply pointing out something that is very obvious in that we are way ahead of you as a club on and off the pitch.
And a couple of seasons in the championship has not made me or us Billy big bollocks as you put it, but it has given us confidence.
You of all clubs should be looking to emulate our success in the last ten years and replicate that rather than sneer at it.

So onto this game. If we play our first team and so do you, based on the form of previous seasons, we will beat you. With ease. Yes there is a gulf between the top of league one and bottom. Of. League Two. Its a fact. Sorry but its true. But as I said if we rotate then you may win. Good luck to you. Our priority is the play offs this year.
May the best worst team win.

That’s not what I’ve said though is it? Most people myself included admire what Burton have achieved for such a small club and with minimal finance. Now we are at the level off the field to compete since Smurf as gone and we have an owner with similar mindsets to yours (they are actually helping advise ours along with Andy Holt judging by twitter conversations) then that is indeed our aim.

All I said was it is a winnable tie. Now that’s not to say we will win but it’s a game that on the night regardless of strength we can win. As we did against multiple Championship sides in recent Years and League One sides. To suggest we’ve no chance and will get smashed is delusions of grandeur. Sunderland put their best XI against us last year and were lucky to get the narrow win. It’s L1 v L2. It’s not like we’ve drawn Leeds!

We’ve got about seven signings to make yet so i can’t even suggest where we will finish in L2 at this stage but im confident we won’t struggle under new ownership.

It will be a tough game but it can be won.

Fair play to you for getting your shit in order.. And it's good if you are talkng to us and Ben about best practice - more clubs should do this.

Your lady director is quite close to Carol (our chairman).

They've been building bridges after Smurf!
