No thread yet. I guess most of the other United fans are like me and just feel like hunkering down and hoping that when (if) we emerge from the current turbulence, we won't be too far adrift of the automatic promotion spots (or if you're HG, too close to dropping out of the play-offs). Not a good time to come up against an in-form Barnet side who boast one of the division's most prolific strikers. It goes without saying they'll bag a couple, the only question is whether we can get more.

Personally I can see this one finishing 2-2... I don't think Pompey will beat Exeter though so we may survive in the automatic places for one more week. Wyke will score one on his last game for Carlisle... Kennedy the other. The team will be booed off again.

Barnet are a strong team, and seem to have made some good signings this month. Akinde will score. I'm sure I read they've won 4 of their last 5 away games, so we'll need to up our game to win it.

It looks like Wyke may actually play so that'll be a boost, not even gonna guess the team though. A win would be massive, get the confidence back up ahead of a tough run of fixtures.

Really looking forward to this. Need a win to try and stay with the other play off contenders.

1-2 (akinola, Akinde)

Have you copied and pasted that from one of my posts?

We absolutely strolled the reverse game. It was only 1-0 but it was very dominant and very comfortable.

Times have changed I'm afraid and I can only see this going one way and that's the Barnet way.

Carlisle 1-3 Barnet (for old times sake)

It's a pivotal game for both sides. Carlisle dropping out of top three would be a big blow and getting nothing out of this would make mid table obscurity our most likely position.

Our style of play is unrecognisable from the reverse fixture but there are question marks as to whether it is as effective. New signings still need time to bed in and we don't know if the latest has international clearance. Would be nice to have Pearson back but probably still a couple of weeks.

I suspect our play is better suited to teams who come at us, rather than the likes of Newport and the Westley bus parking so hopefully we will score a goal or two.

So Wyke starts...

Looks like we're finally playing Liddle in the middle of midfield, too. About time!

It's raining and a bit cold today so I don't want to stand there getting wet.

Sounds like your main man Akinde has missed two sitters today, proving my point I made about him earlier in the season about him being too hit and miss and nothing more than a donkey.

I know who'd I rather out of him and Wyke/Jabo.

I'm not comparing him with our strikers, a couple months a go you lot were banging on about losing him to a higher club in a higher division when really L2 is his level, so therefore not as good as you think he is.

I'm pretty happy that Akinde is having a dip in form right now. I'm sure he will pick up again next week when the transfer window distraction is gone.

We could do with a striker like that, you know a proper L2 striker who knows where the goal is and even if he starts to bag a few then we still won't have to worry about L1 clubs sniffing around.

So how much is he worth? 10k? £20k?

I'm not going to go into too much detail about the match as I'm too pissed off.

But the top and bottom of it is... we are shite, we are a terrible football team and deserved fuck all from that game. The point was the least Barnet deserved.

That's 3 games in a row where we've failed to beat a team reduced to 10 men.

Zero wins this month. Zero clean sheets since beginning of October.

It's just woeful at the moment and with the games we've got coming up it's only a matter of time before we're out of the top 7.

Wyke will be gone. There's no way he'll want to stay in this shit tip of a team

Hmm, that's a tough one but if it were up to me I'd go with Akinde too. However, in all fairness, I've seen him play far more than I've seen Wyke and Jabo, so I could be wrong.

How dare you! We are 3rd in the league and unbeaten in 3.

I'm sorry people but this man does not share the same thoughts of every other Carlisle fan, we are very happy with where we are in the league and we are here because we deserve to be!

Who said I'm not happy with where we are in the league? I'm fucking ecstatic to be third. But the way we're playing we won't be for long.

Erm can you please remind me who scored a hattrick against you last season and made a great spectacle of a match full of shocking defending? :sna:

That's exactly what I meant. I don't like to rate any player or side on just one or two games. I've watched Akinde play several times and have a good idea of what's he's all about, while otoh, I cannot judge Wyke or Jabo on just a couple of games.

Three 1-1 draws against 10 men in a row, and we've not deserved anything more. Akinde should've won it.

It was better than last week, but I still didn't feel confident. This season is slipping right out of our hands, the next few days are pivotal,

How many times do I have to explain it to you? You want capitals?

TO WIN THIS LEAGUE, TO MAKE THE PLAY OFFS, TEAMS HAVE TO DOG IT OUT AND GO ROUTE FUCKING ONE BECAUSE YOU WIN FUCK ALL IN THIS LEAGUE FOR PASSING THE BALL.

Yes I like it when we're passing and looking neat and I know it's frustrating when we're not, but keeping it simple is the best way for us right now with the players we've got. Look at the last time we tried to look slick, we ended up bottom of the league and 4 points adrift or like the start of last season where our defence was a calamity.
