I know Carlisle aren't great at home (three wins in 2017 is it?), but we've been pretty poor for the last four games, and I'd take a point now if it was offered.

Our line-up could be anything, but I would expect Brisley (who has been very good btw) to come back in, and hopefully Dan Jones. Grant should start, too.

Will be making the trip up to this. Carlisle is one of my favourite away days proper old school ground great pub stop on the way up always meet up with friends living in the north. Notts have been poor the past few games and the next few will show if that run was a blip or if we are over achieving.

Would happily take a point.

Should be a decent game, hopefully a few goals after I missed Tuesday's entertaining game. I can't see us improving our horrendous home form to be honest, normally I'd be reasonably confident going into home matches but not this season.

Looks like we'll have a choice of Hope, Cosgrove and Rigg for forward options, so think we'll be relying on the midfielders to chip in once again.

1-1 Joyce, Stead

Brisley would probably be my player of the season so far. Between him and the other Carlisle old boy Collin, anyway, everyone else has had off days but those to have consistently been 7+/10 every single match.

We have been a bit off colour since losing to Mansfield, but i'm not actually sure that the performances have been THAT much worse than they were before. It's just a bit of natural leveling off from a team who are realistically outside contenders for automatic promotion but had been going at a rate that would've seen us get 120 points or something.

Notts is always an interesting one as every time we play them they seem to have an off day (every time in League Two at any rate). Usually though they're the ones on mediocre form and we're looking fairly strong. This time it's the other way round so they'd have to have quite a major off day for us to beat them, but stranger things have happened. I can certainly see a draw though, Notts failing to turn up as usual but us lacking the edge to punish them for it.

To be fair a draw would be fitting as scratch away blue white and red and black and white stripes and we're pretty much the same club. People often name match threads after people who have featured for both clubs but we can't really do that in this case as we'd probably run into the thread title character limit.

Fully expect Keith to have the last laugh again. His record against us, is impressive.

We are going through a sticky patch and have a very tough run of games. Think we will really drop off for a bit while we regroup. There's also a pretty long run of Saturday followed by Tuesday matches. It's going to take its toll

The huge advantage for us over Notts recently has been Jabo Ibehre.

Now he's gone it's up to someone else... that's where our problem lies, we don't have anyone.

Comfortable afternoon for Notts County. Brisley will probably have a stormer despite being mostly shite for us. We'll have ex Notts County man Gary Liddle at the back, to be fair his performance levels have gone up, but the likes of Stead and Ameobi will probably be too much for him.

Should've known that Brisley would be great for us having been bad for you after Liddle and Edwards. You don't have much luck with centre backs who are excellent for Notts!

That was alright. Disappointed not to win because we were excellent first half. Again I think with better quality strikers we'd have probably gone in 2 or 3 up at half time. Our 3 attacking mids played really well.

Second half we were poor, but that could also be Notts improving. I also think having nothing up front didn't help us and pushed us back. In the end we probably could have lost due to that second half sit back tactic.

So decent performance first half, but again it shows that we don't have enough quality to beat teams in the top half. Our strikers are largely ineffective but if we get 1 in January it could save our season.

3 home wins in 2017 is shocking though and that needs to change fast.

We were very good in the first half and could've went in 2 or 3 goals up, but that second half performance was so similar to most home performances in 2017. Bennett his usual self when he came on and Rigg barely had a kick.

Notts County weren't great, quite similar to us in the first half of last season. Nothing spectacular but able to grind out results.

Decent game tbf, one where both teams will be a bit disappointed not to have won. Carlisle dominated the first half but we got ourselves together after the break and missed some pretty simple chances to get the winner.

Happy enough with a point and half decent performance, though.

Good performance first half, I've never seen an applause like that from the Paddock at half time. Perhaps they're just taking a rare opportunity to cheer but from the sounds of it you'd have thought we were going in 3-0 to the good. But for a couple of outstanding saves from the County goalie it actually could have been that.

Notts seemed to press a lot harder in the second half and once they got their goal they sat back a bit and we found them difficult to break down. I'm not entirely sure why Hallam Hope was taken off, I thought he was the one causing Notts the most problems though he divides opinion and the guys next to me were making the usual 'Hope-less' comments as he went off. When we put Bennett up front on his own instead I figured we were just hoping to aim the ball at him and it somehow go in but I pretty much knew we weren't scoring another once that happened. Bennett hasn't improved by much in his absence, just a little bit and he tried one from range that went close so maybe just do more of that, from slightly closer and not when Lambe is in a better position. Rigg barely got a touch of the ball, in search of a winner I think I'd have brought Rigg on for Adams or Devitt and left Hope on.

Carlisle police appealing for witnesses after whatever it was set off in the home end before half time. Made everyone under the stand in the away end jump!

Assuming it was one of those firecrackers that they use at games on the continent. Was somewhat out of place in the first half of a humdrum League Two game with no atmosphere, though.

Generally think that the way that smoke bombs are policed at football is out of all proportion, but you've got to be a special kind of dickhead to set one of those off. Was really loud from the other end of the ground so must've been deafening for people near it, could easily have caused some real panic and can't imagine that it was nice for anyone with young kids.

Sounded more like a firework than a firecracker to me.

There was one earlier in the season (home to Sunderland I think) thrown from the same location, it was definitely one of the lads who stand at the back of the Warwick but as they can't prove which one they're not gonna be able to do anything about it. The stewards did come into the stand to ask those nearest the incident if they saw the thrower, my guess though is it was probably sneakily rolled so that nobody would be able to tell.

Was very loud, and startling. Wasn't sure at first if it could be heard outside the stand as the Warwick does tend to reflect all noise created inside it back into the fans. A guy was with his kids just in front of where it went off and he had a right go at the lads.

It was bizarre I've never seen anything which just makes a loud bang. I can begin to understand the smoke in club colours but it's not for me. But the whole Big Bang just seemed pointless can't see what it adds to the atmosphere and certainly isn't worth getting a ban for setting one off when they are caught.

I don't know if it's a thing across the lower leagues but clubs like ours are increasingly attracting a bit of an AMF crowd, mostly kids (and some old enough to know better) who think they're reliving the 'glory days' of casuals by going to a lower league club so they can brag about how they stand on the terraces, pretending they're on first name terms with Paul Dodd, chanting anti-IRA songs and throwing things.
