The last game of a truly remarkable season is upon us. When Kelvin Thomas was 3 hours away from abandoning his takeover, the end we've had is unbelievable. From the sticky start where it was clear something wasn't right, to the dark days of October and November and people not getting paid. On to 19th December, where after a home defeat to Portsmouth we truly demolished all before us and virtually secured promotion by Ferbruary. A gradual easing off became apparent, but still no defeats arrived, and the confirmation was received. A wonderful season, a wonderful team, a wonderful management team, wonderful club staff. Not ashamed to admit at times its been emotional (Newport away when I felt like I'd watched our last ever league game, Coventry away in the cup where the 2,500 Cobblers fans showed what this club meant to us, and finally to Luton at home where we lifted the title) and I'm proud to say we stuck with it through thick and thin.
Arise, Sir Chris Wilder. A truly inspirational fella, engineering a bond between players and staff and fans I've never experienced before. Onto Portsmouth as we look for our 24th game unbeaten, going down for the weekend for a jolly up, and I cannot wait.
Just don't lose Town, I want to still be unbeaten in league football come August and the first day of our League 1 season.
Every club at this level will experience more bad than good, but my word, aren't the good times good.
Up the fucking Cobblers
