The last 2 seasons this game has probably seen our best performances away from home with a 0-3 and 1-4. Not sure we can expect to carry on in that mode despite a decent start in the 2 matches played.

Yesterday at QPR we produced a fantastic display despite playing ET with 10 men after using all subs before Jones had to go off injured.

Some of the bit part young players from last season appear to have come on in leaps and bounds and our new signings have improved the overall quality of the squad. Should have a couple more new 'uns in before Saturday too.

Still overplaying at the back, however, so teams always have a chance or 2 offered up by our defence.

Should be a good watch with Chesterfield also preferring the passing game.

We were bloody good at QPR last night, even after it looked like we were throwing in the towel after taking off Nathan Thompson and Kasim.

Only worry is that last night we left nothing on that pitch and tiredness is a worry. At least Doughty will be fresh and Thompson and Kasim only played an hour. Unfortunately Jones who looked great limped off and hopefully will be ready for Saturday.

Rumours we are signing a couple of players before Saturday will give us a shot in the arm, however the youngsters were fantastic last night and Jordan Stewart must be on cloud nine this morning with a goal, assist and a penalty converted.

I'll go for a draw. 1-1

I'm still grateful for the thrashing that saw Saunders off last season. My only disappointment was not being there to hear thousands telling him to 'fuck off'.

Saturday? Who knows. We'll probably not get hammered again. 1-1 maybe.

1-1 for me to. Chesterfield to go 1-0 up early on before we get a chance to try and control the game, eventually equalising in the second.

Ched will score.

A few of us have him at 33/1 e/w to the top scorer in the division. If he doesn't get injured or banged up again it's a decent price.

1-1 I think. Hoping we aren't as bad as we were on Tuesday or we will get hammered. Hoping Nolan is fit as not sure I can bare to see our midfield without him.

Our midfield cupboard is definitely 'bare'.

1-1 I reckon. Would be a good result for us. But O'Shea / Evans means we'll always be a goal threat, so a win isn't beyond the realms...

Sounds like a well deserved Chesterfield win and we were below par which wasn't exactly a shock after the efforts on Wednesday. Luke Norris went off injured after 20 minutes and our physicality went out of the window.

Well done Spireites.

Good performance that. Ariyibi added another half a million to his price tag, I think the Swindon left back will be waking up in cold sweats having nightmares about Gboly after that. Ched another good show. Really like the new right back, McGinn, he knows his business. Liddle getting involved more too. We controlled the game pretty well against a decent side, bodes well.

Our left backs are better going forward and so it was always going to be a tough choice whether to bring BOO back in or play Brophy (who played 120 minutes on Wednesday). Sounds like BOO was given a torrid time which isn't exactly surprising. Our local rag said that Nathan Thompson struggled badly against Evans.

Not sure we are a 'decent side'. Our physical strikers Obika and Norris are injured and 2 centre backs in Lloyd Jones and Branco also injured. Our squad too thin at the moment. That's not to take anything away from Chesterfield's performance.

Any of our players stand out Chesterfield fans? (Positively rather than being inept preferably)

Seems like last season is still haunting us - lightweight, injury-prone and too tippy tappy

Nice to be finally be one the right end of a scoreline in a home with game with Swindon (although that 0-4 last season got rid of Deanosaur.....so it was a good result in truth).

Played well, first half especially. Should have have been out of sight at half-time but some poorly chosen passes and some good saves by the Swindon keeper just about kept them in it. Second half we sat back a little and they came back into it a bit but without really threatening and when the 3rd went in, that was that.

Credit to him for making some decent saves but someone needs to have a word with the Swindon keeper and tell him he isn't an outfield player, he seemed a bit of a clown to be honest.

Spireite,

All the experts were saying when someone has been locked up in prison for 4 years then they can never be the same player. Apparently it will take at least a year to show any sign of getting his previous form back.

So how come its 2 goals in his first 2 league matches for Chedwyn?
This wasn't suppose to happen as it's impossible (according to many experts).

I've only seen him play in pre-season but he didn't look like someone who'd been out of football at all.

Without getting into it, he will feel a wronged man who has time to make up which makes him an extremely potent footballer.

Sounds like my man Jon Nolan played well again.

Did Dennis play?

He had a couple of minutes near the end. You almost feel a bit sorry for him because the way Evans is playing, he's not likely to get a look in, and I think he bagged a couple pre season and seems to know where the net is. Nolan looks a revelation, seems to have brought on Liddle as well a bit

Nolan was very good. As he was at Oxford.

Dennis came on at the end, feel like he will be a bit of a bit part player but from pre season looks to know where the net is should he be needed.

Ched and Aryibi were a class above and if it wasn't for the Swindon keeper it would have been 5 or 6 I think. Ched unlucky himself hitting bar and post befor ehe actually scored. He really could bang in some serious goals at this rate.
