We've suprisingly started ok in the league and in Aryibi and Evans have 2 players who are probably a class above this league.

More confident now than I was a couple of weeks ago that depite all the off the field issues and protests that on the field Danny has got us a half decent side.

Hoping Nolan is fit enough to play as he makes our midfield.

1-1 - infront a very low 4800 crowd.

Yea I'd snap your hands off for the draw. Again though, with Ched, O'Shea, Ariyibi you've always got goal threat. I feel Walsall will have more coming forward than Swindon on Saturday though

I'd agree with a 1-1 draw. Evans for Chesterfield with a late equaliser from Moussa.

We have a huge problem in that we have no left back as Rico Henry dislocated his shoulder against Oldham. We will either play right footed Jason McCarthy (who played better at LB than CB against Oldham) there or Callum Cockerill-Mollett, our youth team left back who impressed in pre season.

I'd take another point happily. Chesterfield have started the season quite well, looking like scoring and we are ropey at the back. We keep giving opposition teams lots of chances, eventually someone will punish us. One thing is for sure, this won't be a repeat of the 4-1 away victory of a few months back. We do look good going forward and I actually think having Oztumer go off on Saturday, might give Moussa some game time and overall, he is the better player IMO.

I will take a point, not sure whether we will get it or not.

2-2..250 Saddlers.

Walsall will be better than Swindon apparently were but based on what I've heard if we play as well again we've every chance of winning again.

Same side to start. If we score first I think we'll win with relative comfort.

3-1 again.

First game of the season for me tonight, not done any friendlies or the three 'proper' games. To be honest I'd have happily given this one a miss after everything that's gone on but my season ticket is already bought, and I have been persuaded otherwise.

I still have some serious grievances with the club and these won't go away easily.

Makris hits the bar early on his first start.

Chesterfield slightly more on top though.

Jesus, I've only just realised that Osbourne and Chambers aren't in the side, nipper Kinsella and on loan Dobson (18 I think, 2nd professional start) are playing in the central midfield for us..

Point would be very, very impressive given they are the only physical/strong/defensive players in our entire XI.

Evans with a good strike apparently..not surprised.. our expectedly injured first XI are... well..injured.

Not surprised one bit, Whitney knew he was taking a big risk with this squad of players.

He was class towards the end of his final season with us. Way too good for league 1 and probably Premier League standard.

Anyway according to many experts on forums anyone who spends 5 years out of the game is unlikely to come back any good.
Also it will take at least a year for Ched to show any kind of form.

As he gets fitter he'll only get better and better.
Just shows what these experts know. I'm pretty depressed at the moment.

I felt we edged the first 60 minutes and should have scored early on when Makris hit the bar. After 60 minutes Moussa was forced off due to still not being 100% match fit and we lost all creativity and threat. Evans scored a fantastic finish and 5 minutes later a stroke of luck killed the game and any hope of a comeback.

Disappointing result as I feel a draw would have been a fairer result, but i'm not too upset as I came away with a couple more positives from the game than negatives. Considering we had an 18 year old and a 20 year old as a centre midfield partnership with a right back at left back and a centre half at right back. But this is what you have to deal with when you build a squad of youngsters coupled with players who have had injury issues in the past and need to be protected.

Enjoyed that. 2 fairly decent sides on the night having a good go at each other for 90 mins. Walsall were neat and threatening at times, and had a few chances but I honestly can't remember Fulton having to make a good save...they lacked a cutting edge.

I suppose that is where Ched comes in, as he was the difference between the two sides. All I can say is, he's clearly still a quality footballer. That first goal...bloody hell... he absolutely smashed it in from nowhere. It had a real air of a bloke desperate to prove a point. The second was obviously a bit streaky, but the damage was already done I guess.

Good performances from everyone bar probably Jayo & Dan G who were both quiet

Hard lines Saddlers, there was probably only barely a fag paper between the sides.

What happens if this retrial in October (two months away) confirms that he is guilty?

Nothing's impossible but I think it's very unlikely. I would like to think he's immediately sacked but if he's scored a dozen goals by then and we're up around the top of the league you can imagine the two schools of thought.

Good job you were here to give all those 'experts on forums' the real analysis, wasn't it.

Sooner he gets banged up the better. He'll soon get used to vaseline-ing his bullet hole.

I'm probably wrong here, and i'm in no way trying to fight his corner but i don't think he can actually serve time again for it, even if he gets found guilty at the re-trial.

Think you're right, he's already done his time, this is just a case of trying to clear his name. Would Chesterfield continue to employ him though?

Puts the club in a very difficult position if he's found guilty, especially as he's scoring goals.

I'm sure someone at the club has already come out and said if he's found guilty then he's gone.

It'll be interesting to see if they keep that stance if keeps scoring goals. Money talks, especially with those at the top here.

Yeh imagine that decision, we are 5 points clear, he's got 10 goals already..there would be a definite split of opinion on that one. Think he will be cleared FWIW
