Big game down the bottom tomorrow, big crowd expected as Hartlepool have sold out the away end for one of their rare local(ish) games.

I'll take a draw but would love to be greedy and get 3 huge points.

A win here would be huge, and would most likely be enough to keep us in the league. A draw would be acceptable. A loss could well have us looking over our shoulders again, depending on other results.

I don't buy the narrative that e.g. Cheltenham and Carlisle will lose every game for the rest of the season.

I think I'll go for a 2-2 draw. Both teams need to go for it.

Hartlepool are in reasonable form and we're shit at home, so common sense would dictate we're going to lose here.

For some reason, I think it'll be a draw.

Hmm, but we are also in a decent bit of form now and don't look terrible defensively for the first time this season. Can't see us losing, can't see us conceding more than one. 2-1 us me thinks

I was kind of planning on going to this, as I was due back in York tomorrow, but I've ended up deciding to go to Southend with our lot instead. Home win please, in return I'll come down and support York on tuesday :)

Come on poolies, defend your team after that, diving, cheating horrible lot who got what they deserved.

Never seen a team hit the deck in the area so many times from set pieces. The red card was ridiculous, big challenge from Winfield, Walker jumped over it then ran 20 yards then hit the deck. Ref suddenly surrounded by monkey hangers.

Cheers by the way York, you've done everyone else a big favour there. Hartlepool have bottled the great escape now potentially.

Don't worry Poolies, you'll have the chance to go 4 clear on Tuesday as Mansfield are nailed on to beat us.

Afraid there was some shocking gamesmanship today. However delighted with the result and we're safe.

hartlepool offered absolutely no incision at all, how they have gone on such a good run is staggering if you usually play like you played today. even with an extra man, they made it remarkably easy for us to defend for 45 minutes. Christ, we even started showboating by bringing on Ilesanmi!

Big relief today, we're all but safe with 9 points gap and a much better goal difference and only 12 points left to play for.

Just seen a repeat of the sending off this morning, if that's a sending off we might as well give up pretending football is a physical sport right now, a few years ago a centre half would have received a medal for that challenge. I was baffled why the Pools players and Walker reacted in the way they did but have just been told he broke a pool players leg while on loan at Wimbledon so it now makes more sense, still well out of order in my view.

Hugill- the man with a detached retina- was the worst, he was an absolute 'insertoffensiveswearwordhere'. Apparently he also started on McCombe, Zubar and Ingham in the game as well, angry little man.

Their fans on their forum seem as staggered as we were regarding the red, shocking call but we seem to have a superb spirit at the moment, especially when there is a red card against us.

PoolieBunker also comments on how poor our left back was. Zubar is not a left back, he is filling in for injured folk. At Oxford on Monday, he nullified any threat coming from their right flank, which I suppose if half the job, and he did the same in large parts of the first half yesterday I think. The red card- fortunately- means he won't be there on Tuesday evening.

Didn't think it was a sending off & we were shit basically.

York were terrible & so were we. No one deserved to win the game really.

You could see the sucker punch coming a mile off when you had a man sent. Quite difficult to be incisive when you drop 2 banks of 4 on the edge of your box and defend really well. Still had enough chances to win the game really.

Dirty, cheating, horrible lot? - A little harsh, the only real talking point was the red card (which I was surprised to see).

Disappointing result in front of a good (but nervous) away following. Accrington is a MUST win now.

Massive relief. We really did not deserve to win, but I'm not going to worry too much about that. The goal involved a hefty slice of luck, but since we've had no luck the rest of the season I'll accept it.

9 points clear with 4 to play, I think we can stop worrying now.

A word for the referee: that was possibly the most comically inept performance I've ever seen, and we're not exactly blessed with ultra-competent refs at this level. The red card was a travesty and he kept wrongly giving corners and goal kicks. On one occasion a Pool player crashed a shot off the Longhurst stand and the ref awarded a corner. Amateur hour.

Excellent support from Pool, it's not often anyone fills that away end.

At least one of your players hit the deck every corner or set piece, even Flinders was at it when he came up.

I'm sure that's an exaggeration. I didn't see anything.. saying that I was at the opposite end to the action for the majority of the second half. No one else seems to be making a deal of it either.

I think that should see York safe now!

We're apealing the red card and rightly so, whether it's overturned though is another matter. Watching match of the day is laughable that Kompany goes studs up and catches the Man Utd player and only gets a yellow, in our case ball only and no contact with the player regardless of Walker acting and its a sending off.
