We welcome Creepy to Valley Parade.

We’re still not blowing teams away but we continue to win - this leagues a bit shit, init?

Hope Akpan has found some form, and we have the rock that is Ben Richards-Everton back from suspension - although, Anthony O’connor has filled in perfectly.

James Vaughan is also available, but it means shifting the formation about abit to accommodate him - but he must start IMO. Kelvin Mellor is also back after missing out last week.

Apart from Matty Palmer and Jamie Devitt’s injury, we have a very strong squad to choose from.

GK: Richard O’Donnell
RB: Kelvin Mellor
CB: Paudie O’connor
CB: Ben Richards-Everton (BRE)
LB: Connor Wood

RW: Zeli Ismael/Harry Pritchard
CM: Callum Cooke
CM: Hope Akpan
LW: Dylan Connolly

ST: James Vaughan
ST: Clayton Donaldson

Subs:
Adam Henley
Sykes-Worthy
Anthony O’connor
Aramide Oteh
Shay McCartan
Harry Pritchard/Zeli
Danny Devine

I think Creepy will come up and spoil play. Try grab a goal and defend/time waste for as long as they can. Our first half performances this season have been poor, but we’ve shown our quality in the second half - especially at home with scoring lateish goals.

I’m gonna go for a battling 2-0 win.

14,329 (100) Vaughan x2

A repeat of our first ever game at your place will do me - without the post match fisticuffs. More later today.

Back in the day when we had virtually no money - the squad was absolutely dog shit.

Talking about that night. Steve Evans and Paul Raynor have made me hate every club they had been associated with whilst they were at a particular club. Despite the success they may have brought your club, you must feel tarnished for being associated with the vile Evans, in particular. His behaviour that night after 5 players were sent off was disgusting. I am not going to repeat what he did, but you will remember well enough.

I remember Evans asking for police protection the next time he came to Valley Parade as a manager with Rotherham, he was that scared of the reaction of our fans to him.

Anyhow, if you are coming up to Bradford tomorrow, enjoy your day, apart from the result hopefully. We are a big friendly family up here, who enjoy a tipple and banter with away fans

Evans and Raynor were the major factor in our being largely despised when we were promoted to the league.
I wasn't a huge fan of either of them and I think neither have mellowed with age.
Also, I don't think if you took the best bits of both of them you'd make a reasonable human being.

Anyway, back to the match, I see we're level on "good entries in the box" stats so I don't think we'll sit back and time waste, but I think you'll score more goals than us.

This will be my 3rd visit but first on a Saturday.
As for pubs, I had previously been in one on Lumb Lane, I forget the name of it but I believe it's now a carpet shop.
I have found home fans friendly, apart from (I think) the first match, when one of your fans sauntered past the stewards and started giving it large to the 90 or so of us, but then a steward woke up and dealt with him.
You've gotta love stewards!

Haighys. Shut a few years ago now.

Bradford Arms is the designated away pub, but you're better off heading towards North Parade where there is plentiful selection of bars.

Your advice is appreciated. However, one of our supporters (we're everywhere) lives in Bradford and has pointed some of us in what he considers the right direction.
PS, Hope Akpan, what do you think? He might have been for us an Evans acquisition.

Personally I don't think we'll get anything from this match but we don't sit back and spoil.

Nadesan and Palmer are available for selection but Bloomfield scored last time out so I suspect he will keep his place.

Could be a choice to make at right back. Lewis Young actually got a cross into the box last game so he may stay ahead of Sesay. The rest of the team is pretty much set but Van Yelsin is pushing for a start.

Fancy us to score so 3-1 to Bradford is my guess. Happy if we got a point though.

As Mightybantam says, plenty of decent bars on North Parade, which is only a short walk away from Valley Parade, and you will made to feel very welcome

Akpan has flattered to deceive since arriving 12 months ago. He was heralded as a big signing in L1 and hasn't delivered. Doesn't help that he was one of our (now sacked) Chairman's big money signings as opposed to managers. One of the primary reasons we ended up in this league.

Bowyer looks like he might finally be getting through to him with two goals in two games and improving performances, though I'd say he's now just average rather than absolutely terrible.

He'll be gone at the end of the season.

Shame that Hope hasn't gone on to have a top career as he looked to have all the attributes when he was here.Alwaays been a mystery to me why Bradford are so far down the pyramid with the support they have. Not expecting too much today but would snatch your hand off for a point t.As for Evan's,most Crawley fans share the same views, but he did get us in the league so we are grateful for that...but never again thank you.Good luck for the rest of the season (after yoday).

Too slow getting in to the game and a bit unlucky with the 2nd. We were much the better after that but couldn't fashion really clear openings.
Bradford just deserved the win.
The 12 Vaughan though is an arse. Went down near the end writhing holding his leg only for a miraculous recovery seconds later.

We were comfortable for 65 minutes and missed another sitter to go 3-0 up, then it was like the Alamo for the last 25 and didn’t think we’d hold on.
job done in the end though, ridiculous ref who have Vaughan a card for being wrestled to the floor.

We were fortunate that most of Crawley's chances were long range efforts. Big save from O'Donnell at the end though. Was very nice to see a team in Crawley come and be positive and not spoil, time waste and be negative in their approach.

We're picking up wins despite a fairly lengthy injury list including but not limited to; Clayton Donaldson (2 months), Dylan Connolly, Matty Palmer (3 months), Jamie Devitt (4 months), Joe Riley (all season), and Harry Pritchard went off injured today. Bodes well for when they're all back.

You can’t have Josh Wright back. Sorry.

A tale of 2 halves today.

The Bantams dominated the first half with Cooke and Pritchard impressing. An early second half deflected goal seemed to put us in a comfortable position at 2-0

Fair play to Crawley though, after Oteh's miss from 6 yards out, brilliantly saved by their keeper, which would have made it 3-0, Crawley had a right go and impressed in the last 25 mins or so.

Fortunately we held on with some last ditch blocks from our defenders and a brilliant save from O'Donnell

We missed Donaldson up front today, and it was a massive blow to hear he will be out for 2 months. Thats 10 players out injured now. However the depth of squad has helped us climb to 2nd, but it is going to start to have a strain on us soon I reckon

Thought today was the day we’d go to town on someone 20 minutes in but we sort of just stopped, again we grind out a result moving up to second having yet to play really well for anywhere near 90 mins.
To the Vaughan comment above, I totally agree, on paper one of the best strikers in the league yet 90% of his game throwing himself to the ground rather than competing to win the ball, I’m getting a bit sick of it myself.
130 Crawley fans but that seemed generous by about 100.
And to having Josh Wright back, I think I’d rather be relegated again than have the likes of him return.

I never claimed we could defend... :ohn:
You have to defend from the front funny enough we couldn’t with Wright in the team, he can’t put a tackle in to save his life or at least couldn’t with us. Amazing what difference a midfielder who can win the ball can make.

You can’t expect him to tackle. Might mess up his beautifully brylcreemed barnet.

The potential grass stains on his all white shirt and linen trousers combo doesn’t bear thinking about.

Do you think there is a danger of him making/scoring 5 in injury time?
No I'd just laugh at seeing him get wiped out, nothing to do with his non league ability.
