Tbh I just wanted to see how long I could make a thread title.

Colchester were the best team I've seen this season, although it was against a fucking awful Cambridge side. Fully expect to help them get back on track.

I'm really not sure what's worse - Orient at the moment or viewing people's opinions on the current Orient team and the play off team combined. Apparently Atangana is better than (a younger) Lundstram and someone has Ollie Palmer over Lisbie and Mooney. This is why we can't have nice things folks.

Colchester United 2-0 Leyton Orient
(Szmodics 74, Guthrie 89)

dedwardp how has Kurtis Guthrie been doing for you?

Brennan Dickenson hat-trick.

Want to swap him for Konchesky U's fans? He played for England you know.

I'm going for a draw, I know Orient are a complete mess but we don't seem to be much better at the moment to be fair.

Since the first couple of weeks of the season when we genuinely looked really good and still a level above, we've descended into our annual winless run that usually stretches for anywhere between two to four months. I'm still yet to see a team this season that has impressed me but for a while now we have been just as bad, completely worlds away from the form you saw in that Cambridge game. If we lose on Saturday I'll be genuinely concerned for this season. I've never known such disillusionment around the club, and Saturday's FA Cup game was the lowest crowd by some margin - particularly worrying for a Saturday afternoon game too.

Personally I have seen absolutely nothing in Kurtis Guthrie to pick him in my team. He hasn't impressed me at all but, bizarrely, we have been playing him as a central midfielder all season which seems to be a position he's never played before in his career. He hasn't impressed me going forward and he offers nothing defensively which leaves us completely exposed through the middle. Szmodics has been off the boil for a while and, unfortunately Joe, Dickenson has been out injured since mid-September (albeit he's making a return tonight in the Trophy).

I'm sure Gavin Massey will score too, he's bound to.

The single best result we can hope for is 0-0. Except we can't keep a clean sheet.

I live literally 20 minutes from the ground. I know it's an absolutely awful ground, but I really have zero excuse for not going.

I'm not going.

Colchester will easily win this, we cannot score or keep a clean sheet for shit.

Massey started off well for us, but has fallen into the trap that every other player has these last 2 years - He has become lazy and has lost interest.

Hopefully that dickhead Cavasin is sacked by the end of the game.

Genuinely hope we lose this as it should hasten the departure of our clueless manager.

Massey will open the scoring, only for Colchester to come back and walk it 3 - 1.

Expect a lot of angry Os fans if the players put on another awful performance like at Sheffield on Saturday.

I really hate not caring about my club. I want it back please.

We deserved the win, Colchester did let us off the hook twice though with poor misses right on half time and at 2-0. But other than that, we played well and Cisak had next to nothing to do. We actually played well at times.

Good to get Jay Simpson to FINALLY score, his second one was a good finish - Which he had the confidence to do after scoring his first. We are so fucked when he leaves next summer.

First goal always important, but I thought Colchester overall were poor and looked as bad as we've done in terms of confidence in the last couple of weeks.

I saw their fans protesting outside afterwards towards their chairman. Which didn't suprise me as he's not invested any of the money they've made from player sales back into the team.

May I ask again how Kurtis Guthrie is going? :D

I think he played further forward than he has all season today and he still offered nothing. Missed two sitters and trots around the pitch halfheartedly. I have no idea what he must be doing all week in training to keep getting picked every game.

As I said earlier in the week, take away the first couple of weeks when we did genuinely look good and we have been terrible this season. It seems to get worse each week and I just wish I hadn't bothered with a season ticket. It is a continuation of the previous five years of losing week after week and looking like we have no ideas. As above, I'm worried for us this year. We seem to be following Tranmere's lead and sleepwalking our way out of the league - if not this season, then in the next two to three if nothing changes.

I went. It was cold. It was wet. The sound of the A12. It was a terrible game. Ollie Palmer.

On the plus side I sat with The Terminator, so that was an enjoyable ray of gloom amongst the omnipresent rain clouds.

0-3 was extremely flattering to Orient who weren't that much better than their Essex counterparts, but (for once) we took our chances well.

Not sure why e10rifle is referencing Palmer for? He had a very average first half, but was much improved in the second with several very useful knockdowns - one of which lead directly the Simpson's 2nd.

I feel bad for Colchester, you play exactly like we play at home, limited passion and endeavour. Very unlucky to miss that chance right on the stroke of half time.

Much needed win for the Os - but looks like the manager might be sticking around for a bit after that win which is less than ideal.

Several? It was one, which was the only time he successfully passed the ball to a teammate all day. The horrible conditions and subsequent greasy ball showed up his chronic lack of ability more than usual. He was appalling.

He won plenty of headers / flick-ons in the second half, but you're clearly one of these Orient fans who, regardless of what the lad does, will always get on his back.

He's undeniably donkey at times, but the boy deserves some credit for Saturday: he tracked back well, pressured the defence admirably, and got a nice assist.

If you think that was an appalling performance then you clearly having been to many Orient games this season...

Harsh, from my quick count watching Palmer's passes he's made 12/17 successful passes - 4 of which were in the opening 12 minutes - (only includes when he has won the ball, not when he's failed the initial header or caught in possession), he even attempted (the key word) something that wasn't a simple basic play! This is an improvement from the 1/5 v Mansfield, where most people rated him a 6 or a 7 because he ran/ worked hard/ headless chicken syndrome. Anyway, point is, defensively Frankie Kent has had a bit of a 'mare dealing with SOP. This is also a quick snapshot and in no way indicative of SOP's overall performance.

If he plays like that next season he ought to be a fairly decent acquisition for Sutton.
