After two tough games, away to Bradford and at Home to Newport we head to another fancied team in Colchester. I said i'd be happy with four points from the first five games but after the two draws and last nights win at Brentford I feel this is a game we can go and and win.

CC has made us difficult to break down and we look dangerous on the break. We could go 3-5-2 again on Saturday as that worked so well last night at Brentford.

Colchester had a good 3-0 victory last night over Swindon and coming up against Jevani Brown adds to the mix so it's one I'm looking forward to.

Tough game this and I’d be delighted with a point, Colchester should be top 7 this season and our record at theres(layer rd included) is woeful.
Confidence is high but we’re a bottom 5 side(according to the sky EXPERTS!) so expect a thrashing everyone.

My prediction 2-0.

Need a win to get the season going. We've shown signs of promise so far without really clicking, but with Bramall suspended and Vincent-Young seemingly on his way out this week we'll be short at the back.

I fancy a dogfight with Carlisle for last in the CUFC league. Guess the Layer Road Ladz can cruise away in first this year.

Shit, this may be the last CUFC league for a while considering our relative prospects!

Hands up all those who expected that second half performance after that shower in the first 45. What a turnaround!

I was confident during preseason that we wouldn't struggle as much as we did last year, and although we're only 3 games into the new season, the signs are all pointing towards a comfy mid table finish. We held a promotion seeking side to a draw, took a point off one of our bogey teams after 6 straight losses, and now we've finally won a footy match at Col U after 18 years.

That’s s superb win. Great finish from Darling though I’d have been upset if Mitov had let that slip through his fingers!

It’s been an excellent start, so much more uplifting that recent seasons.

Footballs a funny old game isn’t it. We were so poor in the first half we were lucky to go in at 1-0 down. The game at Brentford certainly had an affect on a few of the players in that first half.

Thankfully Colchester didn’t kill us off when on top and once we scored our first there only looked like there would be one winner.

You can’t beat smash and grab wins but it was really a game of two halves. Marc Richard might be 37 but boy does he know where the onion bag is. Roll on Tuesday.

I thought we were excellent in the first half, one of the more one-sided halves of football you'll see. Camped in the Cambridge half, passing the ball and retaining possession well, sharp movement and generally giving them the run around - but we look really toothless and I'm struggling to see where the goals are coming from this year. Brown still hasn't turned up this season, Norris is generally a waste of a shirt, Nouble is decent but not a winger and Senior is a Championship level player but only once every five or six games, drifting in and out of anonymity otherwise.

God knows what goes on at half-time though, as the team that came out after the break was a shadow of the first forty-five. Need attacking reinforcements before the end of the month, for sure.

Well that was unexpected, by me anyway! Excellent result for us and everything seems a lot more positive, elements remind me of the side Roy Mac produced all those years ago.
