German Coach Franz Beckenbauer, after winning the World Cup 1990, said straight into the microphone that, in the future, with the players from East Germany the Unified German Team will be invincible. As often, he was so wrong. OK, we won the Euro 1996 with one East German Player (Sammer) but that's it. We were shite in the WC 1994, 1998 and even 2002 where we reached the final. Franz was always a "don't think before you speak" type of guy.
