Felt this achievement deserved a thread of its own. What a stunning job Coleman has done there. Got them out of the Conference, had a few close calls where they almost went up, but now they are officially in League One for the first time in their history.

Proof that budgets and the size of your home crowds mean very little. Best of luck in League One next season Accy, can't wait to see them take on Sunderland in a league match.

Aye a great effort by Accrington. Hope they go on to win the league which I’m sure they will now.

It's a massive effort, and for a side that always beats Mansfield, I wish them all the best.

They'll be the smallest side I've ever seen in the 3rd tier but they deserve all they've got under their owner and their courageous manager.

Well done.

Superb effort from ASFC and proof money isn’t everything. Deserved and expect them to seal the title now.

Congratulations Stanley , incredible effort. Although disagree with JJs comments budgets / home crowds.

Wonder what the odds were on that (champions / promotion) at start of season?

Great to see so many congratulating Stanley. Even if we only get one year in league 1, will have been worth it for the experience this year. For a town the size of Accrington, stuck between Burnley and Blackburn, its beyond most fans biggest dreams.

Been going 20 years now.... We've come a long way from playing Witton Albion and Droylsden!

Absolutely delighted for them and also for Billy Kee an ex brewer. They have been so consistent on the run in.

Fair fucks to them, it’s an absolutely staggering achievement and John Coleman has done an amazing job.

Next season they’ll be playing at the Stadium of light!!

Their turnaround in the second half of the season has been truly incredible for a team with limited resources to strengthen who you would normally expect to find things tough going after January. When we played them on boxing day they were coming off the back of 4 successive defeats and were among the worst opponents I'd seen us face. They dropped out of the play-off places and you just expected that would be the fun and games over for another season for them. Yet incredibly since then they have only lost one further game (rather improbably, Crawley did the double over them) which must be one of the strongest second halves of the season anyone has had at this level. Glad we got them out of the way by December.

Without wishing to piss on their chips..Are there any further requirements for minimum seating in league one ? I imagine it’s the same as league 2.

I echo the comments above. Congratulations, a superb achievement and pisses away the idea that you have to have one of the bigger budgets to do anything in this league.

Apart from Carlisle I don’t think I’ve ever been as pleased to see a team win promotion from this league. I hope they go on to win the title.

Incredible achievement by Accrington, surely one of the best second halves of a season there has ever been at this level. Their consistency since January has been incredible, obviously just hit on a winning formula somehow. When we played them they just seemed to have “something” about them you couldn’t quite put your finger on, just seemed to know how to win all types of games.

Still a little disappointed that we have choked the title away but can’t be too upset if it’s them who take it.

Fair play to them, think they might do a bit better than some might think next season too. Defied the odds already so why not again.

Are they still building that new stand? Forget what was going on with that. They were also going to put a roof over the away end.

New stand due to be built over summer along length of pitch. Not massive, about 15 rows deep but all seater

What an achievement, be a massive ask to survive in League One but what an experience for their fans. In comparison to Burton and Dagenham are Stanley the smallest club to ever reach the 3rd tier?

It'll be a smart little ground when that's done.

Accrington vs Sunderland will be interesting.

Well done to Accy. Their run in the second half of the season has surprised me to be honest.

Madness that we took Rob Edwards when we could have had John Coleman a few years ago.

Really nice to see them promoted, very likeable club which appear to be improving both on and off the pitch.
