So, the league leaders go to an unpredictable Coventry side.
Confidence is high in Devon but this will be tough. Unless there have been knocks in training I fully expect us to name an unchanged side, and rightly so, meaning Stockley, Boateng and Moxey on the bench.
Reid will he hoping to add to his tally, but equally important will be seeing if Moore-Taylor and Troy Brown can keep out the Sky Blues.
Exeter should bring over 1000 fans hoping to continue our winning streak. A tight game, I will go 1-1.

Will we really take 1000 to Coventry?

It's a long way to sit in a soulless out of town bowl... I could go but I'm not fussed by the fixture enough.

We could easily be the first team to beat Exeter this season, but we could also easily lost 2 or 3-0, never really know with us. Last two performances have been very good though and if we play like we have been I can see us getting a positive result.

The first of two tough games for us. If we can come through these unbeaten I will be impressed.

Coventry are a bit unpredictable but they have good players and seem to be solid defensively.

I think we may well get a point here. 1-1 Holmes for us and Vincenti for Cov.

Toughest test so far.

I can see the logic in us swapping out Woodman for Moxey for this game. Whoever's playing at left back will be up against Jodi Jones who is a really good player. I remember watching him when we played Dagenham the year they went down and he was superb. At the time I think he was linked with Premiership and Championship clubs so I'm not quite sure how he ended up at Coventry. Either way, if we don't defend well against him he could be a real danger so with the added pace Moxey provides I think I'd be tempted to draft him in. No guarantee that will happen though as we're unchanged in our last 5 games, and are in great form so Tis could be reluctant to make changes.

The 4-4-2 we're playing is really getting the best out Holmes and Reid and when they're on their game we've always got a chance. Gutted I can't make the game but ticket sales have gone well so could see an 1,000+ away following.

Tough game to call.

Sorry to butt in, but is it true Coventry have only sold 300 tickets for the game at the County Ground next Tuesday. Thought you'd bring 1000+

Probably a combination of it being a Tuesday night, us playing you loads in the past few years and us having a terrible record at the County Ground. Will probably sell about 700 in total, maybe more depending on Saturday's result.

If we play like we did second half at Cambridge, the best ive seen us for a long time we could get a good home win, typically with Cov if its like the first half Exeter will have a walk in the park

I was impressed by you lot, the best side by far to come to The Abbey this season. What I'm not getting though is that, according to loads of comments by Cov fans all across social media, the side's biggest problem is the forward line not scoring enough goals, but IMO it's the back line that needs to improve sharpish. TBH, I can't see why you had only let in 3 goals prior to playing us. But tbf, I'm basing my observations on just one match and that's far from ideal.

We really struggled against Ikpeazu tbh. We've not come up against a player like him yet and he bullied our back-line. That was easily the worst game the defence has had all season, but it was also probably their toughest test yet.

Trouble is with Moxey is that he's so short of match fitness I'd kind of rather keep Woodman, even if is against Jones. I think Jake Taylor will have a big role to play by helping out whoever is left back, which he's good at with his energy and hard work.

Exeter are on fire...I know we need to win our home games, is a draw such a bad result for us?

I'd take a draw if offered now.
We are so hot and cold , it's always one good half and one terrible.
Can we finally put in a good ninety minutes, if we can I think we could sneak it.

Vanni, that was the first time in decades I've been to the Abbey, what the hell has happened to all the pubs. The nearest one The Wrestler was bloody shut and I couldn't find another one for miles. Had to drink fizzy piss in the stadium and it was pouring so had to drink that stood in the toilets.
Not great.

Sounds like we've been well off the pace today but that's probably in the most part down to how Coventry have played.

Disappointing, hopefully bounce back on Tuesday against Notts in another big game.

Phenomenal second half. 2-0 honestly flattered Exeter tbh, we should have been 2 or 3 up before the second. Jones outstanding again, he’s easily the best player in the league based on the games we’ve seen. Very good save to deny Reid at 1-0 from Burge however. Assume we must have caught Exeter on a bad day, as their performance didn’t match their results. Fans travelled well and made a decent atmosphere, good luck to them for the rest of the season, except on January 13th.

Yep, it's not exactly a great away day nowadays. There are a couple of pubs on Newmarket Road but they are more handy for U's fans who are on their way to the ground than for away fans, and I think the best bet for visiting fans would be to drink in the city centre but I know this isn't always possible.

Congrats on your win today.

Should have scored a few more.

Very happy for Devon. Just like his twin brother, he is a proud Coventry lad who loves the club.

Jodi Jones is so far ahead of this league it's silly. No one can get near him.

Defence also outstanding again. We have only conceded 1 at home so far and even that was an absolute fluke. We just need to start stepping it up away.

Brilliant support from Exeter again.

No complaints today, it sounded like Coventry were better in every department. Tisdale said in his post match interview that Coventry totally deserved the win. We could have nicked a draw with Reid missing a one on one but that would have been daylight robbery. One other real low point was Moore-Taylor going off injured so hope he's not too bad.

A real off day for us, the first one of the season and we now have to show our metal and bounce back on Tuesday in a very tough game vs Notts County at SJP.

Well done Coventry, I suspect they will be in and around the autos. Jones sounds a real talent and he should win them lots of points this season.
