There'll surely be a reaction from us with this game coming just a few days after the horror show at Accrington. 7 goals conceded in the last 2 away games is shocking, but not at all surprising as it's been a similar story for years now.

Coventry have had a mixed start but have won 2 out of 3 at the Ricoh, and will fancy another win on Tuesday. I can see them pushing for a playoff spot as they've got some very decent players for this level.

Our fans are expecting changes. We're not scoring enough but we're gifting goals to teams every game, whether it be Bonham in net or one of the defenders. It's a shame we've only got 6 defenders so can't see any changes there, except Liddle for Miller. I'd start S. Miller up front alone, can see him thriving on the wide pitch, with Adams, Kennedy and Devitt behind.

3-1 Coventry

What a shower of shite that was yesterday. Any optimism I had has just about gone after that. It was horrendous. I'd make a few changes.

George
Miller Ellis Parkes Grainger
Jones Kennedy
Lambe Devitt Adams
Miller

Subs: Bonham, Liddle, Etuhu, Joyce, Nabi, Hope, Cosgrove
Time to give Miller and Devitt a run of games together, start playing football.
I don't want Bennett anywhere near the team, he's a Sunday morning pub player. I know others will disagree, but I just don't see anything in him.

If we play anything like we did yesterday it will be another 3 or 4 goal hiding. Glad I'm not going.

We're very good at defending, but also pretty bad at attacking. McNulty and Andreu are both out injured which kills our attacking threat somewhat as well. Although, based on showings so far, Jodi Jones is probably the best player in this league on his day so if he has another good game we should win.

I'll go for an optimistic 1-0 home win.

Prediction.

We'll scrape a 2-1 defeat which will totally flatter us as 7-1 would be a fair reflection of the game. Curle will blame the officials, but take positives from the performance. Players will come on twitter saying they are gutted with the defeat but will go again on Saturday and put it right.

Carlisle fans are really over-estimating our ability to score!

That won't matter much as we'll gift you at least 2 or 3 great chances. Accrington's 3rd goal on Saturday, our defenders didn't even attempt to tackle the lad running at them.

You're forgetting that we're the side that couldn't score against Yeovil or Chesterfield!

Most of our away support will be stuck in traffic on the M6. Sounds like a bad accident.

Sadly I think a relegation battle is on the cards for us. We're absolutely toothless in the final third and simply can't keep clean sheets.

Our form since the start of the year has been that of a team scrapping to keep their football league status, which is where we're heading and where we deserve to be.

Apparently some Carlisle fans did not make it til half time due to an accident on the m6!

Decent 2nd half performace, Doyles best game so far? Nazon looks more and more impressive.

Robins has confirmed that Andreu is out for the season which is a blow

Not surprised, and not really bothered about tonight's result. It's gonna be a long, dull season but I still don't think we'll be relegated, probably 15-19th.

At the moment I think we'll just about stay up. Realistically we have some good players, but worryingly we're conceding goals at an alarming rate again, only this team we don't have the fire power to compensate it. This is the worst set of strikers we've had in a long time. Awful.

I think we need to sack Curle. I like what he's done over the 3 years but he's taken us as far as he can. We have some alright players, but they just need new ideas and new direction / tactics. Sign a striker and we might do ok under someone else.

Thought we were good second half when our defence and midfield stepped up 5-10 yards.

We've only conceded three goals this season, two of which were goalkeeper howlers from o'brien who has since been dropped which is a very good sign. We've looked very solid.

I still think we lack creativity but there are some promising signs although Andreu out for the season could be a big blow.

What's that now, 8 wins in 32 games or summat?

Time for Keith to go.

Second half was the best we've played all season, although Carlisle allowed us way too much time. jones in particular had acres of space every time he had the ball and should have scored at least once. Encouraging stuff all in all.

Yeah, that's our 2017 record including the 2 playoff legs.

A shockingly bad run that if continued over a season would see us staring down the barrel of relegation to the conference.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Well not seen Carlisle yet and not getting to hear much of them either, but from a distance i'd say its probably close to thinking of a change in management. Give Curle a handful more games, mostly due to fact he's earned that from last season, but the 2017 performances seem to be dreadful most weeks and when i talk back to people i know who go they have zero hype or confidence about the team anymore.

while i have many problems with Curle (the endless changing and swapping of sides and never finding a good defence) I don't blame him too much for the decline. He's had to base Carlisle doing well on an attack basis due to the awful defence, but then went and lost his best, more consistant performing forwards during 2017.....replacing them with cheaper alternatives.

Give him a while longer, if no improvement, probably time to change things up......................seems to be a thing with Curle during his history to do well for a while, never get promotion then it collapse, although that rise and fall has normally happened much quicker elsewhere than it has here.
