Been talking about it in the relegation thread but a lad on our forum called it a week ago, said the job had already been offered to another manager (Dave Jones if you believe the whispers) and was waiting on their response, so I guess we're halfway there to the rumour being true.

Chairman says this won't be a long drawn out process so I reckon he's already got the man he wants.

I have in the past posted on this forum under a different username(lost login details)...but now i'm generally just a reader as oppose to posting my thoughts....however, after reading Carvers comments earlier in the week along the lines of 'there is not a chance in Hell that Dave Jones would join Hartlepool United' I thought id come and question him on the mysterious disappearance of said comment!? Funny that after today's events?

I think we Poolies have been mocked in the past on here for our perception of what a good manager is ..... but , this IS a good appointment

I think it's a decent appointment myself, don't think he'll rip up trees but at least you shouldn't be lingering around the bottom four.

Blimey i didn't know he'd been out of work for over 3 years, a very good appointment for Hartlepool that will move them up the table to safety.
