After a week off from the league, Crewe return to the league action having won 1 in their last 5 league games, returning 5 from a possible 15 points. Although not great form, we have played Northampton, Colchester and FGR within these last 5 and still remain in the play-offs.

We really need to start return to winning ways but have no idea how this will turn out. Mansfield are more than capable of getting a result against anybody in this league and look like they have some good players in their squad. It's rare to see, but I'm not quite sure how John Dempster has been given so much time but defeat here might surely be the end of his reign?

Having come through the replay with Eastleigh largely unscathed, I'm not sure what extent the injury to top scorer Chris Porter is but maybe it's time to give Chuma Anene is first start after two well taken goals? Only other change I would look to make personally, is Powell for Dale.

I'm going to go with a Crewe 2-1 win.

Jesus dude, this stopped being funny like 3 posts ago, give it a rest.

Dangerous fixture this. Yes, the form book says we should win, but Mansfield in my eyes are a talented team playing very badly. Can't write off a team with Maynard, Rose and Cook upfront.

I'll take any sort of win, sets us up nicely for the 2 away games before and after Xmas.

Mansfield were the best team I’ve seen at the CG 2 weeks ago. Only some abysmal finishing by Maynard prevented them from getting something.

We dominated the first 30 minutes, they had a host of chances next 30 minutes and we snuffed them out well in the final 30 minutes.

Banana skin, for sure.

3 or 4-0 to crewe.

Donkey dumpster and his uninspiring, ineffective, pointless football has been allowed to carry on and for that reason we will get nothing.

No hope, no ambition, no point (literally).

My ambitions for the match is that we have a shot at goal, achieve that and that’s a bonus.

After booing them as loudly as I could at Shrewsbury and Cheltenham I hope that they at least show they’re footballers this time round, our midfield has been missing nearly as long as maddie McCann

For those who like a bet crewe are evens, get your money on.

What’s even better is dumpster was talking this week about what we needed for the playoffs

Given that threat of relegation is a very real threat (if only reduced due bury) that approach explains his football and knowledge in one go.

If Crewe are serious about promotion they really should be beating teams like Mansfield.

We’ve beat Carlisle, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Walsall and Oldham - 22nd, 14th, 20th, 17th, 21st. That’s it.

It’s no more a banana skin than any other game, you have no idea.

Also added to conkers post - apparently we played the best we have all season against you.

We lost
We scored 0 goals.

That’s where we’re at.

Abit nervous about this one. The pessimism from the Mansfield fans just makes it worst. They obviously have talent in there squad so are more than capable of putting a performance in. I was expecting Dempster to get the sack last weekend which would have been a nightmare for us. Hopefully we can put the final nail in his coffin this weekend. Porter came of injured on Tuesday but Chuma scored a brace so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'd also bring Powell in for Dale, Powell was very good when he came on.

Crewe 1-1 Mansfield (Kirk, Maynard) 4,650 (400 Stags)

don’t be, it’ll be like playing against 11 year olds.

Our board are intent on keeping donkey dumpster, there is no hope, there is no chance.

He couldn’t manage his fucking dinner.

Would it help you CreweLad to say that we haven’t lost at Gresty Road since 1st Jan 2003, and that we might be do a defeat.

Remember the game well. We beat you a few times that season. Don't think we've played you very often since then in fairness.

we got better through out the season, lost 5-0, 4-0, 3-0 then 2-0

the five and two were league, the three was FACup and the four was the tin pot trophy. I happened to see all four games that season

Dempster should have been sacked when Cambridge trashed us 4-0 at home, and that was ages ago.

What's the Radford's stance on Dempster? Has there been a vote of confidence or are they quiet about him?

What’s being said in public and behind the scenes is very contradictory.

That's basically what I was trying to tell you Conks last season. What the Chairman says at a fans forum or to the local press is very different to what is said in the boardroom and between club directors/chairmen.

Delighted you appear to have caught up.

To help answer Luke's question, since John and his wife (CEO) moved to Portugal they have gone really quiet. Although Carolyn has an excellent monthly column in the Chad (local) paper , well worth a read if you want to know all things Mrs Radford oh and Mansfield.

As Conker, Adam and others have both said on the forum the manager should of been fired weeks maybe months ago but the Chairman and board have done nothing dramatic, sat on their hands and showed their support to the manager.

I let the Stags fans fill in the rest , something about not being able to afford to sack him right now. But that could be rumour

My prediction is that Mansfield will sack Dempster before Saturday and Crewe will demand that they be awarded the three points as its unfair to expect them to face a different team to the one they prepared for.

You know Crewe haven't asked to be given 3 points for anything, right?

I'm just wondering if this is worthwhile watching illegally on a firestick, all the downplaying means we might actually get a point?

Then again, we've not even scored in 4 out of our last 5 games :bl:

Been well on top for most of the game, but we keep seeing moves break down because of our insistence of chipping in crosses rather than trying to pick them apart on the ground.

Both sides look fast and confident on the ball, very shaky off it. Mansfield hitting it forward at every opportunity, getting the 2 front lads in behind. Maynard with 2 shocking misses by his standards. Need to keep scoring, as I don't think we'll only concede 1 today. We'll need at least 3 to win this I reckon.

Had Maynard packed his shooting boots, this would have been a very different story.

I thought that was an open entertaining game with 2 teams really going for it(well, in Mansfield's case, until about the 70 minute mark). Both sides missed great chances, both sides hit the post. I felt we dominated the possession and territory and were the only side who looked likely to win it in the final 20 minutes. Mansfield maybe edged the chances though.

I thought Mansfield looked decent to be fair, they hit the front 2 quickly and counter attacked quite well. Maynard should have had a hat-trick.

I'll take a point and hope we can get 4 from the next 2, both of which are very winnable.

Mansfield really aren’t a bad side despite what their fans say.

I know Maynard missed at least a hatrick of chances today but if we had a striker like that we’d be 10 points clear at the top.

Maynard missed a couple of sitters at ours a couple of weeks back.

Wellens was after him pre season - got Doyle instead!

Shame that we don’t have the budget of your Swindon’s and Mansfield’s to go after strikers like that.

Still makes me sad to think we had Maynard in for training early last season but couldn't sign him because we had Nicholls and Miller instead. :ffs:

It’s ridiculous to suggest a team that is 18th in, let’s be honest a very poor league 2 this season is not a bad side.

Just telling you what I saw, has your squad changed that much since last season when you challenged? I think you’ll finish higher up the league.
