Since none of us bothered to create a match thread for CUFC v CUFC round 3, we didn't get to update all the huge CUFC league fans out there about the state of this year's competition.
After somehow dispatching Colchester 4-0, Carlisle find themselves in prime position going into the second half of the season, while Cambridge, who were done and dusted by the end of September are all but out of the contest, requiring results and a turnaround in goal difference if they're to take home the solid gold bust of Jabo that we use as a trophy.
Next up Carlisle visit Colchester on the 23rd of Feb, knowing a win will cap off a highly impressive season, while if the two CUFCs draw then Cambridge will be mathematically out of the running before they even get their chance to respond with Carlisle only needing a further point against Cambridge to secure the title. Should Colchester win then it all comes down to the two games involving Cambridge in March. Once again they're played quick succession, on the 23rd and 30th of March respectively and in those circumstances Cambridge's slim hopes would be alive should they win both, which would see all three teams finish on 6 points.
Here's the table as it stands.
_______________________________________________P__WDL___ FA ___GD___Pts
CUFC that Jabo last played for _______________ 2 _ 2 0 0 __ 6 1 __ +5 ____ 6
CUFC that Jabo played for before that _______ 2 _ 1 0 1 __ 3 4 __ -1 _____ 3
CUFC that Jabo currently plays for ___________ 2 _ 0 0 2 __ 1 5 __ -4 _____ 0
