Dean Cox is apparently player of the month. Ian Hendon is apparently manager of the month. We've also bagged goal of the month.

Rakish Bingham wasn't nominated as it would be unfair on everyone else.

They obviously figured that if they gave Jabo the award for scoring 9 in August they'd have to give him it every month.

Not surprised Hendon has got it. There really was no competition in that award.

Slightly surprised Jabo didn't get the player award but Cox is a class player at league 1 level never mind league 2, so his performances gmb and probably merited it.

They only consider League performances, so you have to say that there's basically nothing in it. Don't know if Jabo has any assists, but his seven goals are stacked against Cox's two goals and five assists so there's really nowt in it in terms of output. Add in that Cox was part of five wins and is the best player in the division (insert obligatory Rakish comment - yawn), and you can see why he shaded it.

But Dean Cox is Dean Cox. There is literally no player* who has played against us in his time here that I would trade him for.

*Ignoring the entire Arsenal team, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Sako, Fonte and a whole host of players I can't be bothered to think of. Obviously includes M'Poku, Kane and Carroll who were his team mates.

In a way I am pleased because I usually find this an utter worthless award as they just pick 'who scored most in the month' rather than who played well.

typical that the very first time ever they use some common sense than lazy bone-idol decision making its when we finally have someone with some goals.

gives Jabo motivation to get another 9 goals to win Septembers.

Oddly CUFC have felt compelled to express their surprise that he didn't win player of the month... I wouldn't put it that way, I felt he had a good shout of winning in, and could still win the PFA/Sky Sports award, but didn't think he would be a shoe in. I think maybe their comments are just a little positive mind-games to let Jabo know we think he's number 1

I think it's more convenient for the football league to give the 2 awards to the same club rather than get an award shipped all the way up north.

Having seen what happened to Orient this afternoon, my thoughts are, thank fuck Jabo didn't win the award.
