Rochdale (H) FAC - WIN - We're usually pretty decent in these sort of games, Dale may be going well in League One but only squeaked to a replay against Maidstone and I can see us getting our fourth win against higher division opponents in two years.

Mansfield (H) Checkafail - WIN - I don't think Mansfield will take this game seriously, I'm sure Evans has bigger fish to fry and might look upon it as an opportunity to learn more about his squad by trying a different approach against a familiar opponent.

Luton (A) - DRAW - Our next league game, in which we'll have to try and keep pace will be a toughie, it's the same day as Plymouth play Donny and Portsmouth play (admittedly no longer in the top 6) Grimsby so a very big weekend at the top, that considered a draw wouldn't be a bad result and I have a feeling Luton will be too good for us to go there and win. It may be a defeat but I'll be optimistic.

Yeovil (H) - WIN - One of those 'should-win' games, and I'll make the hopeful prediction that we will win. Yeovil don't look too bad but we've generally beaten mid-table sides.

Crewe (A) - WIN - Boxing Day! I think Crewe are a decent side, and had a poor result this weekend, I'm hoping that if they are beatable and we are on form then we should win. If I remember rightly, we enjoy our boxing day games.

Notts County (A) - WIN - The final game of 2016 and last time we were at Meadow Lane we hit five without reply, whereas our last game of 2015 saw us beat them 3-0. At one point this season it looked like they were a different proposition, but on their current form, if that doesn't change we could do something similar again.

That would be 10 points from 12 in the league, but I think Donny, with their game in hand may pick up something like 12/13 from 15 and go above us. Hand that they and Plymouth play each other.

I think we've got a good chance against Coventry as they're on a poor run. So I'm putting us down for a win, maybe even in a replay again.

Then we've got 3 away games in our other 4 which suits us fine at the moment. I don't think it's unrealistic to hope for 7-9 points. In truth, all 4 league games are winnable but of course I'm not quite THAT bullish. :-)

League 2 doesn't work like this - even more so during a busy Xmas period. It seems even more difficult to predict than usual this season.

Rochdale. H (FA Cup) - WIN
Yeah we're underdogs here but I too think we'll win.

Mansfield. H (Trophy) - WIN
I hate this competition so I know we're going to go and get to Wembley.

Luton. A - LOSE
I've had this one pencilled in as a defeat for a while. It will be a fairly even game, but I think Luton will nick a 1 or 2-0 win.

Yeovil. H - WIN
Yeah I think we'll bounce back from the defeat at Luton.

Crewe. A - DRAW
Don't think we've got the best record there but we'll get a point. Can see something silly like a 3-3.

Notts County. A - WIN
I was there last season when we stuck 5 past them. They've no doubt improved since that shambles, but so have we. It won't be 5-0 this time, probably a goal in it.

I've managed to get zero out of nine through October and November - so I've used a random number generator this month. Our results are so random that I'm expecting it to get them 100% correct:

Grimsby Town (A) - Draw
Hartlepool (H) - Draw
Newport County (A) - Draw
Yeovil Town (A) - Lose

So that's 3 points in December, slipping out of the play-offs and Cook clinging onto his job.

(A) Cheltenham Town - Win - If we cant beat Cheltenham in their current state we will 100% be relegated this year. Too early for mince pies at half time. Reuben Reid unhappy to still be having oranges.
(H) Mansfield - Lose - We are at home we obviously lose, can't buy a win at SJP. But we can buy some decent christmas ales. 3 points of Otter in the bag before the game has even kicked off.
(A) Yeovil - Win - The much needed away 3 points to put some christmas cheer back in our hearts. Close game but we just about edge it. The mulled cider proves to be decent as well.
(A) Newport - Draw - Tisdale has a hangover and hasn't shaved since boxing day, we both look like pretty garbage sides. Bore score draw. Bring on the new year.

Look, on paper this is a piss easy run in. Should be targeting a minimum of seven points.

Orient have also lost their last eight home games in the league, so frankly, I am not going to predict anything.

Since I mocked the inaccuracy of mowgli's November predictions, I should at least put my money where my mouth is and see if I can do any better.

They're currently making a decent fist of being the three worst signings we've ever made.

I have some sort of respect for Dickinson's effort and consistently coming over to aggressively clap the fans when we lose so he can take some abuse, but i'm not sure what bit of football he's supposed to be good at. O'Connor has been injured a lot but offered absolutely nothing when he has played, completely anonymous every week.

As for Richard Duffy... fucking hell. He's one of the worst defenders i've ever seen. Has been directly at fault now for like seven goals in the last four games, including a wonderful pinpoint pass through to John Akinde at Barnet on Saturday.

I remember when we signed him from Swansea as a young kid with a big future. He came on as an early sub against Blackburn(?) and immediately caught the eye. Marauding runs down the flank, great in the tackle. I remember thinking we'd signed a real diamond here. Sadly, he failed to ever break in to our first team (Redknapp didn't trust kids) and faded out of the picture and continued to do so for the last decade. I wonder what went wrong.

As for Dickinson, i'm not surprised one bit. 100% committed but no talent.

I know people don't like to predict too many wins, playing it safe in other words, but I'll eat my hat if you lot only get 3 points. If I were a Wycombe fan I'd go with a win at County and possibly at Cheltenham too, and two draws vs Orient and Plymouth. 6-8 pts.

Duffy has immense in our promotion season but very up and down since (believe he has had some personal issues).

Occy should waltz that division, has the ability but we questioned his desire last few months at VP.

Dicko fist pumps etc has the passion, again had a great season first year in L1 but very up and down since, expected all three to do well at County in L2.

Orient
8 home league defeats on the spin as the Orient circus continues to spiral down to the non-leagues, but a glimmer of hope in new former-youth-team-manager Andy 'I can speak English' Edwards. With 2 solid weeks without the Orient, fans, players and manager alike will all be celebrating this respite from the torment.

3 of our 4 December games fall at home, where we have only taken 3 points all season. If we are to avoid the drop these 3 games are crucial as, on paper, all are winnable. I predict the 2 week break will play well, allowing the new manager to dictate his style of play to the demoralised players. All in all a big, and potentially prophetic month for the Orient.

Accrington (H) WIN
Stanley are in shocking form, registering only 2 points from their last 6 games. A potential banana skin away at Woking in the second round could further destabilise. A truly massive game for Orient, I boldly predict Orient to end their run of 8 successive home defeats, hopefully the fans will get behind the new manager and we can begin to turn things around. A loss here will be very damaging.

Wycombe (A) DRAW
Amazingly, Wycombe are now in the play-offs after 4 wins on the trot (although these have come courtesy of Morecambe, Cambridge, Newport & Hartlepool - so it may be a tad early to get too excited). Orient are better on the road - not that that says a great deal - but with the Chairboys on song this could be tough. Score draw.

Crawley (H) DRAW
Ah Crawley. We could play like the 1970s Brazil side, with an on-song Messi thrown in for good measure, and we would still lose 1-0 to Crawley every single time. Not so much a bogey side as full on tuberculosis. Honestly could be anything, I'll take a point.

Cambridge (H) LOSE
Lots of Cambridge fans predicting wins for them in this one. A month or two ago I was looking at this fixture as a nailed on 3 points. Well, not quite nailed on - more like clumsily prit-sticked on. Now, not so much. Cambridge look resurgent, if a little inconsistent, but have begun to beat the sides at the wrong end of the table, and will likely continue to do so here. That said if the Os manage to win their other 2 home games in this month, that momentum could carry them forward. As it stands - away win.
