So then, December. This festive period can make or break teams. No loan window, so clubs have to make do, can put a big strain on small squads. Not as many fixtures as you'd expect, only 4 if you are out of the cups. So, how will you do in December?

Doncaster A - Loss. We won't go 3 unbeaten. Just when you think we're putting some form together, we'll lose because we're still pretty shit. I'll go 2-0 Donny.

Fleetwood H - Win. Their away record is pretty terrible, I'd like to think we can grind out a win here by any means.

Rochdale A - Loss. Rochdale had our number big time on 3 separate occasions last season. Can see Hill embarrassing Davis once again. Comfy home win.

Shrewsbury H - Draw. They are capable of picking up a result or 2 away from home, so this will be tough. Hopefully we can keep picking up points at home.

I'd take 4 points to be honest. Need to go unbeaten at home and see what we can pick up from the 2 tough away games.

Bury (H - FA Cup). 0-0 niggling borefest.
Swindon (A). They weren't very good at Dale in the Cup, but look like they've started to turn things round a bit. Winnable, but may end up a draw.
Crewe (H). Win. Hill haa far too much nous for Davis, and we have the better players.
Col Ewe (H). Win. They've got some good youngsters, but seem to lack organisation.
Scunny (A). Always a tough place to visit. For some unfathomable reason I fancy us to sneak a win this time.

Walsall (h) - draw
Grimsby (a) - win
Peterborough (a) - lose
Swindon (h) - draw
Fleetwood (h) - win
Crewe (a) - win

3 massive games over the Christmas period with a chance of picking up some good points. The Walsall draw prediction is purely based on any turmoil behind the scenes if Smith moves on.

If we were actually any good, I'd be saying any less than 9 points from those games would be disappointing. It's a shame, we're probably going to need them when we get absolutely walloped every week in January.

Not the easiest set of fixtures, back us to get at least four points at home the way weve been playing at Vale Park this season, the away ones are tough although we seem to have had Walsall's number for a few seasons now and have a great record over Coventry (1 loss in 13 or something and that was with an injury decimated side last season) but we are too negative away so depends how we set up. If Inniss is back that might improve things come the end of the month. I wanted 26 points by the half way point (after the Coventry game) as that's the safety target of 52 over the full season and are on 29 already so to be at 32-35 by then leaves us a lot less to do second half and can build from there once we hit 52 points.

Think we will need a replay to dispatch Exeter too, no doubt for our typically glam third round tie against someone like Brentford away or Sheff United.

Six points would be a steady return with cup progression.

Hopefully an unbeaten month, a spot in the 3rd round of the FA cup and a bit closer to the top 2 would be great!

Doncaster away - Last minute loss after we take the lead, Donny love scoring late goals past us and they also love come from behind wins!

Fleetwood home - Win, tend to do well against Steven Pressley managed sides and this is a must win home fixture for us.

Rochdale away - Loss, Spotland syndrome strikes us again and we get battered.

Shrewsbury home - Draw, I reckon we'll absolutely boss this game and put in a brilliant performance, but Shrewsbury always get something at Gresty Road regardless of how well they play. Another game we need to be winning against a relegation rival.

Anything more than six points would be a very successful month, 4 points is the minimum requirement, any less than that and I can see us being cut adrift again by the end of the month.

At best. Even on the rare occasions we play quite well we still lose, no reason why that should change this month.

Realistically anyone of those could end in defeat, we have few away wins at Chesterfield/Sheff Utd in the recent past but likewise we've not lost many there either, the other two are confident home wins where we've started to pick up points

Aimed low and predicted 4 points from 4. Got 1 point from 3. Just not good enough, especially when you consider the positions we were in in each of the games.

Gonna steal these as they were pretty much my predictions.

Sheffield United - Ref shithousery cost us the win there.
Oldham - Ref shithousery cost us the win there.
Port Vale - Won.
Chesterfield - Fortune was pretty gash. Maddison was great. Probably edged the game but take a point.
