No guessing on what the result could be here then? Mansfield have drawn 5 out of 8 and Northampton 4 out of 9.

Northampton are either really good or really crap when coming to Mansfield, seemingly this time it's the latter.

Still hoping for 1,000 from Northampton though?

Guessing we'll both be looking to win given our positions in the table.

Going for the obvious - draw

No basis as to why, but thing we may edge it 1-0 so a section of our fans can continue claiming Flitcroft is the Messiah.

Bar the Exeter game we have been decent at home really, obviously those dropped points against Colchester were gutting.

Going off our general performances at home we are definitely going to make chances, will we manage to take one? Almost certainly but the question is what we will do after that? Hold on, bottle it or actually try and score more.

Draw, Hope I’m wrong because we seriously need another win just like we did against Carlisle.

You would expect Northampton can put in a better performance than Carlisle though.

Haven't a clue how this will end up, but the Vale fans were predicting over five goals before last Saturday's 0-0. Trends counts for very little for us...

Jesus Christ, Northampton were fucking abysmal.

I mean Carlisle were not much better a few weeks back but at least they did not give up in the last 15 minutes.

We were at best average, I know it's weird to say after a 4-0 win that should have been 6-0 bar two great saves but I am still not convinced we are good enough at all.

Agreed, Northampton were dreadful. What was all that about? Not seen a side here that bad in a long time.

I was originally shocked to see 500 away fans but soon realised why

If the attitude is to 'give up' throughout the club you might aswell fold it.

Mansfield have been through much worse than what Northampton are currently going through, have a look at our little non-league neighbours the spireites for a example.

Or even our elderly friends at meadow lane, though they did the amazing and won today, put your lottery numbers on!

Macclesfield and Morecambe look good, strong bets for relegation

Chris Wilder left. His successor promised evolution not revolution, it was revolution and it went tits up from there.

I did suspect so.

Touching on the point from moomin I did say that Northampton do seem to be really good or really shit when they come here. It was kinda painful to watch on their behalf as they were just well, wank. There wasn’t even a slight hint of application from the team at all, and that’s against a team who have been under some real pressure in recent weeks, infact id still go as far as say that despite winning 4-0 if we played Exeter again playing like that we’d have lost (or maybe drawn) again such was Northampton’s ineptness.

Something certainly not right there, the new manager approach might be on to research in the near future

Problem is Austin is the 4th since Wilder, and I've no faith in our chairman to appoint a decent replacement.

You are one of them drinkers then

I understand the frustration with the team, they didn’t even try once that second went in and I actually felt sorry for the fans when that third went in, a lot left and I cannot blame them.

I don’t think slagging them off as they came to clap the fans mind, looked a bit nasty - probably been better to refuse to clap them back or fuck off home.

You said there they stopped trying, for that alone they should get pelters in my opinion.

It appeared the manager ordered them to, I don’t think any of them were particularly in a rush to do so or looked happy.

If Mansfield had played like that away and dared to come even within a distance of our fans they’d have known about it a lot more than what Northampton did. Maybe the manager subjecting them to the bollocking they deservedly got might be a way of trying to motivate them?

Mansfield fans would have done the same obviously, I just don't think shouting 'fuck off ya wank' (that's what it looked like) while frothing at the mouth is going to help anybody, not even the daft people doing it.

I understand getting caught up in the moment though.

I object to this thread's title.
It is clear that FGR are the division draw champions with a mere three wins but seven draws. ;)

Never seen a team give up like we did in the second half, always a first in football i suppose. Terrible. We'll now have to see what Keith Curles new manager bounce will give us...
