Macclesfield, one of two club still to record their first win of season alongside Notts Co, play host to FGR who are last undefeated team left in League 2.
Should be a slam dunk for an away win but both teams have had impressive wins against other side. Both are well acquainted with each other as regular opponents in the Conference so any result would not be unsurprising.
And for those betting on omens to make mockery of league placing and league results it should be noted that last week Leeds lost their unbeaten run to Birmingham a team that had yet to win.

Come on now, let us have our moment ffs. 3 more games and we'll have gone a QUARTER OF THE SEASON UNBEATEN.

Can't remember the last time we did that .Can remember us going that long into a season without a win though.....

Too many draws!!

What I wouldn't give for a draw right now though. :bg:

(Or even just a goal)

We are unbeaten in cup games... We are mint.
...sadly for you, not extra strong!

Seriously though, from painful experience, we take pride in defying rationality...games you might expect us to win, we lose! We lost in the Conference at home to North Ferriby...at a time when they had already sunk without trace in the Humber and we were preparing for the play-offs.

As a Rovers fan I never take anything for granted!

And after losing at home to North Ferriby, we went and won at Tranmere who were on fire and had just stuck 9 past Solihull. Shows anything can happen I suppose.

Can still get at least 11/10 in most places for FGR on sat.

And 3/1 on relegation at 888 bet!!

Important that we don't take these lightly, especially after what happened last night. Need to do a professional job. Seen us lose to the likes of Leigh RMI and Droylsden in that part of the world, shows what can happen when you don't take these sorts of teams seriously.

You mean the North West in general? Leigh and Droylsden aren't exactly close to eachother.. Neither is Macclesfield.

We lost at home to Hereford once, best be careful of teams from the south/Welsh border/Bristol area.

What do you mean by 'these teams' when we were in the conference with you and Leigh R M I - You were in exactly the same bracket as them....

No we weren't, Leigh RMI play in a huge ground in a rugby league stronghold in a heavily populated Northern area averaging about 150 fans.

FGR play in a rural area that favours football, the Stroud District and have averaged over 1,000 home crowds for the majority of our time in the conference, even though most of it was spent struggling.

Could not be more different from bloody Leigh RMI!!

Exeter are not exactly footballing giants either. Although granted you do have some very good teams, just a shame That large part of Devon does not support its club in greater numbers. Certainly not compared to Plymouth.

Exactly, we were never one of the worst supported clubs in the Conference, despite struggling most years. Remember beating Exeter 2-1 at home when John Hardiker scored twice, totally ouplayed them and the Rockwool Army totally outsung them.

Mmm North Ferriby, FGR should be as big favourites for this as they were for that game.
I can maybe sense another BULLISH prediction coming up with possibly another tattoo forfeit at the end of it if you lose Chris?

Leigh RMI had the best food I can remember in the Conference, all be it I made just the single visit. (Better than Kiddy on this occasion). I had a meat and potatoe pie with chips and gravy, the best ever. Mind you in the middle of winter you needed something warm inside you stood on that massive open terrace! I think Leigh RMI only lasted one or two seasons when we were there.

I know we'll be dealing with a wounded animal tomorrow, so yes on the basis that we were in a very similar position this time last season, and managed despite the odds to start digging in and claiming points it is possible that Macclesfield can do the same until we reach January when they can maybe get some new faces in. So I expect another league two battle as usual. It's a worrying time for Macclesfield fans though, and Yates will need every bit of experience he has to turn it around. It is possible, some time to spare yet.

Our recruitment was poor pre-season last term and we only just scrapped through in the end. We have since employed a recuitment specialist (not a director of football as such) and I suspect he has had a positive impact for this season, because we have far better players now. It's a big ask for Yates to come in late on and know just what he needs or can afford and can get hold of. Recruitment must be a specialist full time job in the professional game these days.

I think we are a very hungry side still, and will expect to take a point.

Erm, probably best not. Last time I ended up looking a bit of a twat, if you know what I mean...

Leigh RMI, don't make me laugh, bloody splitters.

Should never have left Horwich. Leigh has never even had a Railway Mechanics Institute. Bahhhh. Would have been great to still be able to walk to Grundy Hill for the odd Horwich RMI game.

Macc seemed to have reacted, started brightly, pressing hard and have had the better chance. We're just starting to get into it.

Unless this is going to be a game of two halves, I see a point as being a very decent result. Patience alone won't change anything unless Macclesfield start to tire. That's our best chance. Only playing one upfront not producing Jack atm.

Well Yates has brought in some of the second string players and the performance is much improved. Deservedly level at 1-1

Grubb scores for us then gives away possession for Mac to equalise. Game on.

Go 1 up, concede and then draw 1-1. As usual.

Christ, looked like a pen, then ref's changed his mind and I think has booked the Macc player after talking to the lino. Our commentator reckons it was neither, underhit back pass they both went for.
ETA Apparently the lino had a far worse view than the ref too :D

Despite the supposed form we have to be happy with a point there, Macc got at us and we weren't flowing. The unbeaten run stumbles forward!
