4/1 seems a bit short on promotion for us. Especially when you look at the odds you can get on the likes of Exeter and Oldham.

Also, I don't really get the Bookie's distaste for Grimsby, but odds for promotion are generally shit, bookies very risk averse I guess given how 'easy' it could be for anyone to sneak into the playoffs and go up. If I put a tenner on Morecambe to get promoted and they managed it I would expect to be crowned king of Football and have a statue built in my honour, £120 seems a bit underwhelming in comparison.

The only winner from those prices will be the bookies. If it was a horse race with that many runners you would have some priced at 25/33/50 to one, possibly longer. I am not going to be discourteous enough to suggest which teams should be at far longer odds than quoted but I don't think William Hill are being totally honest with us.

You’re better off backing your team to win the league e/w then pays 1/4 the odds to be in the top 4.

I got 20/1 on Swindon - 5/1 to finish top 4.

Quite like Grimsby at 10/1. Could sneak into the play offs and then it's anyone's.

Yeah but it's still only 10/1 as others say what's the point, with this many teams you expect some to be much longer odds.
Only winner is the bookies.

True the odds are wank. I'd never bet more than a tenner then I'd have to wait 9 months for a potential 100 quid.

I’m not one to tell people how to gamble but we were the best team in the league in the second half of last season. Double it with Mathieu Van der Poel to win the World Championships and you can thank me later.

That list looks like last seasons table with Salford and the relegated four at the top. Not a lot of thought gone into those odds, all a load of bollocks and not worth betting on.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Salford are going to hit a big problem soon and have to make a tough choice.

I’ve been a few times and even with the mass investment the club really isn’t ready for L2 level let alone higher.

Ground seems to be made of some weird ikea metal set-up, a great idea for small non league clubs needing quick fix stands but not clubs hoping for 3000 plus crowds most weeks, facilities are poor or temporary.

On top of that location of ground is not designed for a club ploughing cash for fun, it is hemmed into a housing estate and near some quite well off areas..........it took lots of cash and that media hype brigade just to scrape through planning permission to get this much.........they won’t get more for current site.

Is no parking or transport facilities. Rail and metro 20-30 mins walk off. On top of that Salford is quite developed and I see little room for new ground anywhere, I guess why Rugby ground is well out of town.

The rugby ground is in a shocking location which won’t attract them to groundshare........it will take time to sort their facilities out, even with billions behind them.

They need to slow down, ground won’t cope with championship or L1 level, but their fans only go as it’s 150 to watch wins each week, not through loyalty or caring to go.

I think they will have to slow down but also still compete

These sort of odds are always crap value, but decent for 4+ accas.

Most tempting odds I can find are top 3 finish

Swindon - 6/1 and Crewe 12/1

Crazy you can get the same odds on Crewe to finish top 3 that you can Morecambe to get promotion.

Title odds are long enough to be worth picking two or three teams and still stand a chance of a decent return. Salford 8/1, Bradford 9/1, Plymouth 11/1 and Mansfield 12/1 seem decent. I'd go Bradford and Mansfield.

As much as I enjoyed the freshness of Curle at Carlisle I don’t think he is ever a manager these days who could take a team up.

He tinkers far too much and spends too much time setting up for opponents different styles rather than pick a working style, good players for it and sticking with it because ‘it works’

Northampton and Grimsby are my outside shouts for promotion this season.
After the last couple of seasons I’d be happy just to be in with half a chance of the play offs even if we don’t actually make them.

Grimsby were 6/1 for a top 7 finish, that's decent value. I'd hate to see them promoted, Son of Cods latest Imps obsessed fishing expedition would have us passing them on the way back down!

Ah yes so having an opinion that a threadbare squad not being upgraded whatsoever is classed as fishing?

We won't go up, but the fact that we were 2nd faves for relegation is quite frankly laughable. Not sure if we still are. That was some time ago. Are the relegation odds basically a reverse of the promotion odds? I think we'll be in the 10th to 15th kind of area with our current squad and a few solid additions.

You can get 7/1 at Hills but it’s a season too early for us I reckon, solid highish mid table finish this season for me (boring I know but still progress) and then play off push in 20/21.
I know Jolley’s told all our new signings that were ‘going for it’ this season and I hope he’s right but somethings telling me that it will be next season that we really kick on and not this one.
Obviously I’ll be happy to be wrong on this though.

I'm on it at 7/1. Not wanting to tempt fate, but I reckon a Grimsby promotion is much more likely than us coming straight back down. I doubt we will trouble the automatic slots at either end of the table.

There's a 0 or two missing from ours.

Always a waste of time looking at them early, they only really take shape just before the season starts. You can get much better odds on Exeter for example if you have a look around, and no doubt some of the others too
