EFL Big Launch Publicity Stunt (or let's see how misplaced everyone is on their big map)

To launch the season, the EFL have gathered fans of each club together at the City Ground, Nottingham (nice of them to do it within sight of Meadow Lane) and placed them around a big ol' map drawn on the pitch.

Well for a start our fan is miles out of place, lurking somewhere around Alston, but Sunderland's fan seems to be down in Hartlepool rather than directly across from us as they should be. A few other odd ones, and I can only guess at who's who based on location and colour, and some are wearing away kits. I decided to occupy myself over lunch by labelling the map so we could all see what a botch job they'd done. Corrected the perspective too, to make it easier to see.

I was confused at first wondering in which division the hotly contested Goole derby would be seen, but there are two Scunthorpe fans (admittedly standing in the wrong place) while the Donny fan is more or less in the right place.

The more worrying one is that they got Barnsley and Huddersfield totally the wrong way round. Barnsley is between Huddersfield and Bradford is it now? I really can't stress enough how much you 'will hear of it' if you get Yorkshire geography wrong on the telly-box.

I think they have us a bit too far north, round about Gloucester...plus I thought that Pompey, Middlesborough and Sunderland were pretty close to the sea, not according to the EFL.

I think after getting Yorkshire wrong, the EFL are gonna have bigger things to worry about. They'll have to just hope something huge happens that would replace their blunder as the leading story on Yorkshire News. Something like, Greggs putting up the price of sausage rolls.

It looks easy to get in the right place on the pitch from an above view, but when on the pitch I bet it’s not as easy as we all think.

Similar to how easy certain things like passes, runs, positioning etc are to see on a football pitch from your seat at the top of the stand. It’s a different thing altogether seeing the same things when you’re actually on the pitch playing.
