I hope Newport and Cardiff both register objections. I mean I don't like I personally, because it seems tinpot to me to need to say 'English'... this is 'The' Football League, there is no other that matters. But the Welsh teams have much more legitimate reason to dislike it.

Well put I'm almost certain the marketing consultant's report including lots of references to the NFL,NBA,NHL,PGA,NRA accompanied by viewing and merchandising figures, and perhaps also references to how often the US Media refer to the Prem as the EPL despite that having never been its name.

TLA isn't an acronym, it's an abbreviation.

EFL is an attempt to hang onto the EPL's coat-tails. I do wonder when the latter will take off as an abbreviation on British soil. Won't be long.
