For me, England had a great chance of winning both championships 2018 in Russia and then by 2020 but in other cases how does the draw......Is new national team to win in 2020 year or old classic Germany or England moon believe......

The FA did bid for the 2018 world cup but true to their usual levels of utter incompetence, made a pigs ear of it. Eliminated in the first round of voting with only 2 votes. And one of those was the FA voting for itself.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...8-bid-david-cameron-jack-warner-a7811351.html

The FA also made a bid for the 2006 world cup, which was eventually hosted by Germany. This wasn't just a mess, it was quite dishonourable too.

The FA had previously made a gentleman's agreement with the Deutscher Fussball Bund whereby Germany supported England's bid for Euro 96 if England would support their bid for FIFA World Cup 06. England not only failed to live up to their part of the bargain, but worse, made a counter bid for the 06 world cup themselves.

I think it's extremely unlikely that England will be awarded any international football tournaments for a verrrrrrrrrrrry long time. People have long memories, and the way our FA has behaved, we don't have many friends.

Isn't Wembley hosing the 2020 Euro final (and semi final) as apart of some grand trans European competition?

As for the 2020 qualifying - seems like you can either get through via the nations cup or standard qualifying groups.

Super_horns : Yes! Wembley hosts the semis and the final of the Euro2020

Cornish Piskie : I am not sure about it but Isn't this Gentlemen's Agreement between Germany and England for the Euro 2020 and 2024? The German FA (DFB) cancelled the application for the Semi-finals and the final (in Munich) and supported the FA application of Wembley getting the semis and finals (which they got) and the FA vice versa supports the DFB for the Euro 2024?

btw: Always a pleasure to read your opinion!

To Dirk and Super Horns: I was unaware of this latest development. Thanks for putting me right on that one.

To Dirk: The agreement re: Euro 96 / WC 06 I was speaking of was this one:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2000/jul/06/newsstory.sport5

Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive, eh...?

But if England are being given showpiece matches again, then it seems there is more forgiveness around in the world than I previously thought.

I live and learn..!!

PS: Thank you for your kind words. It's nice to be appreciated. I too enjoy reading your views.

I think we had to pay a lot of money for the right which probably helped...

Money rules at FIFA of course.

And this was before the all the latest scandals at the FA...

Thank you. Didn't know about this back then. Seems that, against all odds, the Germans can forgive, he :D
btw: Had to laugh about the Sir Bert Milichip quote "Kein Problem", did he really said it in German or was it a bit mocking of the Guardian?

I live and learn..!!

Me, too (see above). I am always happy when I learn something new, even at my age ;)

It was honestly meant. You're a rational mind and your opinion is always fair and not biased by xeno- or homophobia and you're a European! So we have the same point of view. I try to act and see it in the way our old King, Frederick of Prussia (called the old Fritz and Frederick the Great), said it once (about religion), nearly 275years ago "Jeder soll nach seiner Facon selig werden (transl. maybe: "Let every man seek heaven in his own fashion))
Damn, I am going way off topic here. Anyway :D [/off topic]
