Hoping Everton wipe the floor with them and if they play to their ability I think they will. 3-0 Everton.

Sunderland in front.

Freak goal but maybe the sort of luck a team at the bottom needs.

Lukaku has been shit. Offside there and still puts it over from 6 yards anyway.

Went on a run to get themselves safe, then the players decided they couldn't be arsed, it seems.

Do you think Ashley would consider getting out if you went down? I heard someone saying the other day that his long-term plan revolves completely around Glasgow Rangers and that Newcastle is a temporary thing. I really have no detailed understanding of the situation but I didn't quite get that...

Maybe he thinks he can achieve CL football if he takes over Rangers.
But he won't sell Newcastle if they went down because he won't want to sell at the reduced price that a championship club will fetch.

Newcastle were 100-1 to get relegated after they lost 1-0 to Sunderland on 5 April!

No, I don't think he would. I think he'd quite happily sell the club if there was a buyer willing to 1) pay £134m for the club (the figure he paid in 2007) and 2) pay another £129m to cover his loans. And that's just not going to happen.

It'd be difficult to get Newcastle back up without investment though.

I struggle to see why anyone would get involved with football at this level with the aim of making money.

Meh, we didn't really invest in 2009 and we won the title with ease. Then again we had players like Barton, Nolan, Carroll and Jose Enrique back then...

You had Jose Enrique? I didn't know that!
I recall the mighty Bristol City holding you to a draw though at the gate!

Excellent result for Sunderland. Newcastle in real trouble now!

Exactly. Players suited to getting you out. Who amongst the current crop do you think would be good in the Championship?

I can see you having a long spell down there if you get relegated.

2-2 both teams in form, if one team wins, the other will go off form. Gonna be a great match this IMO.
That was on the Aston Villa vs Everton match. Aston Villa won, look what happened! I am definitely a fortune teller! lol

Depends who stays really. You'd think Sissoko, Krul, Janmaat, Tiote and Cabella would be sold, but you never know.

I'm sure the likes of Perez, Steven Taylor, de Jong, Colback and Gouffran would be very effective a level below.

Yeah we had a very strong side. We released Owen, sold Martins, Bassong, Beye and Duff for £24m and brought in Lovenkrands, Danny Simpson, Routledge, Mike Williamson and Leon Best.

Off the top of my head, our line-up was something like: Harper, Jose Enrique, Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Simpson, Gutierrez, Barton, Guthrie, Routledge, Nolan, Carroll

We're currently 1 up against Southampton, the game vs Sunderland could well be trivial dependant on other results.

Martinez oversees another awful result. He will be lucky to last to Christmas if he carries on the way he has this season

You could argue that the United game aside, we've barely turned up in the League all season. We had a great run of results since the win over Newcastle in March, but that game and United aside, every one of those games we've been really bloody awful. I think the win over QPR definitely made us safe, and we just havent turned up since the, bar United. Absolutely terrible last week, okay this week until we went behind then we caved. Massive overhaul needed in the summer, a lot of that team can go for all I care, their attitudes have stunk all season long. As for Martinez, great last season, awful this. Next season is key.
