Not surprised to see us languishing at the bottom of that. A lot of dumb red cards from us this season and whoever ends up playing in the defensive midfield position ends up making a lot of “tactical” fouls it seems to me. Lot of bookings for pulling breaking players down etc. Downes started picking up some bookings now too as a result. We aren’t your typical League 2 big physical side but we do have poor discipline no doubt and some our tackling is not great.

Surprised how high Wycombe are though. Shows how good they are at playing refs. Also thought Lincoln were a bit of a dirty side and would be down there with us, but glass houses and all that.

Pretty mad that we've got a manager who constantly gobs off on the sideline, yet we're the 6th cleanest team. Also, we're one of only 2 teams to not have received a straight red card this season, although we had a player suspended retrospectively, so he should have received a straight red during the game.

We do seem to get a few yellows for tactical fouls, and I was mad we didn't take the Coventry lad out leading Upto their penalty and equaliser, not very gamesmanship but hey.

Ironically the game where we got our 1 red the opposition got 2, so it kinda didn't count lol

One of those was rescinded...

That table does show we’ve done well on the yellow cards though. Edit: Joint 3rd to be precise!

No surprise to see us bottom, our discipline this season has been atrocious, certainly the worst since we entered the football league. 6 straight red cards mostly for off the ball incidents, and not even the refs are safe from us.

...we're not a dirty side though. Not that I'm arguing about the numbers.

We were the same last season though - getting silly bookings. Last season Danny Hylton got booked and subsequently sent off for throwing a litter picker!

Dan Potts got a yellow on Saturday straight after coming back from a 2 game ban - he's going to get to 15 if he's not too careful. There's no excuse for that - players who get to that threshold should be given a fine (around 100% of their weekly wage). Two key players - Sheehan and Hylton are also on 9 and have got to get to Easter without getting another; fat chance of that happening.

Wow that is some strength from Hylton, did he pick the person up two handed? :bl: impressive.

I'm sure that we were top of this table earlier in the season but now we're Westley-niggling our way downwards.

We are way too high up that table for a team battling near the bottom!

Completely agree with this. Not saying I want us to turn into a team of hatchet-men but considering we are meant to be fighting for our lives a little more aggression at least would be welcome.

FYI the 10 game threshold moves up to 15 after game 37 I think.

We've got Danny Hylton and Alan Sheehan on 9 each, plus Flynn Downes on 8 (5 at Ipswich which lost his place in their side). We've got two massive games this week, so I'll be amazed if each of those remain on those numbers. Dan Potts has already served is 2 match ban and is currently on 11.

Yep, we've got to get Bostwick and Rhead through the next two games.

In the NL last season and previous years - and I'm assuming the FL, too? - they used to do it on a date rather than after 'x' amount of games, which was daft.

That doesn't really surprise me with those two players! I still think players who get to those thresholds should be punished a bit more harshly than they are now - financially.

Danny Hylton has had 24 yellows and 2 reds in less than 2 seasons for us. Now I know he has a reputation, but he's not that dirty!

Bostwick gets bookings because of how he plays but of Rhead's 9 yellows, 5 have been for dissent!

EDIT - On the subject of strikers getting lots of cards, we had Ben Tomlinson and in his first season with us he got 15 yellows and 3 reds - 11 games missed through suspension! Still finished our top scorer, too.
