So it's a case of master v apprentice in a this one, as Cooper goes up against his former captain at Kettering.

We're a bit stretched on the injury front, but the good thing is Thomas and Shephard should be fit which is a major boost. Sheps in particular is absolutely key.

Mansfield are starting to pick up after an awful start, and with the quality in their squad that shouldn't be a surprise. What is a surprise is Dempster has hung on to the job long enough to get a couple of results, and maybe might actually prove up to management after all despite being written off by many.

Should be a hard fought game, doubt there'll be many goals. Be 1-1 or 1-0 either way I reckon.

I actually have a bizarre feeling we might just snatch this, dunno why. Maybe it’s the last two results blinding me or FGR ‘false position off data’ I keep seeing on twitter.

The bookies have this game overwhelmingly as a DRAW but fool as I am, I've predicted a FGR win + Joker on Oakie Prediction Thread.

We absolutely love a draw so would not surprise me.

In the last few games we’ve half looked like we know what we’re doing. Was unlucky not to win at port vale, which in turn was slightly lucky to win at Grimsby in the last minute. We were already 2-0 and playing well when Oldham has 2 players sent off at the same time which skewed the result.

I’d be more than happy with a point, looks like Danny rose might not play today so a chance for andy cook to show what he can do if so.

With Shepherd back and with Frear signed yesterday giving us a mental boost, I fancy we might continue our improved home form. (I doubt Frear will play, not fit enough yet).

Mansfield finally building some momentum, it will be an interesting, game. If they get in our face. we don't like it and can't handle it. That's where we miss Matt Mills, but have to keep an optimistic bias, and go with the win.

Rose is out, that’s not good.

All over Stags first half, we're on it and they seem to have set up wrong. Hope only the one goal lead to show for it won't come back to bite us.

Classic game of two halves here, good job Mansfield didn't play Cook from the off, we'd be six two down! Into injury time and say we're more likely to lose it. Ebou off injured is a bit of a worry.

I think pretty much everyone was expecting him to start in honestly but decided to go 1 upfront which I guess was half understandable but half daft given we don’t really employ that tactic.

Still a point at FG is a decent result

Dempster got it completely wrong, Rose being out injured but not playing Cook to start with was in hindsight ridiculous, Mansfield didn’t actually have a chance until we scored.

CJ Hamilton was atrocious again, the lad was rumoured to be on the end of a £750,000 bid last January and he’s not played well since.

We struggled to contain Cook, the game definitely changed when he came on, if Mansfield had started with him the result might have been a lot different.

Despite being frustrated at conceding a two goal lead, when for an hour we had played really well, at least we didn't let Mansfield take all three points. I had tipped them to go up via the play-offs before the season started, but now am not so sure...unless they can break the domination of the division by Wales and the West (plus Crewe and Bradford)!

Wasn’t there so can’t comment other than generally, I don’t think our squad has the depth when certain players are out for injured. It’s a big ask to bring your a-game every time, when youngsters are still learning there trade, plus seldom does the opposition simply not turn-up.

We improve on one weakness only to find another new one pops up. We need Matt Mills and Dawson back ideally. But as frustrating as it is to concede a 2-goal lead at home, I can honestly say we have been lucky not to concede more on plenty of other occasions at home this season. It will happen some times. If we can get it right on Tuesday away at Morecambe, then that will suit very nicely.

I agree with the above post. Most of us could probably name a first choice line up but it always seems we have one or two of our more influential players out injured, as soon as one returns their place on the treatment table is taken up by another.

By my reckoning at the moment we have Williams, Grubb, Dawson, Mills and McGinley injured...I may have missed someone there...I just hope that Adams isn't joining the list after Saturday.

Don't get me wrong, I am still really happy with how things are going, several of your players are exceeding my expectations before the season started...thinking of Godwin-Malife, Kitching and Stevens...plus to a degree Barnard and Collins. All of those have had far more game time than might have been expected but all have acquitted themselves well and certainly don't look out of their depth.
