First derby of the season, always a tough game against these. Expect they'll bring a big following as usual, so should be good.

Both teams gave Premier League sides a decent game so should come in confident, they've strengthened well with their cup money and look a big strong unit, so will be another clash of styles. Hopefully we can cope with them as well as we coped with Grimsby, but it's going to be a bit of a battle I reckon with both sides having strong defences but not scoring many. Got 0-0 written all over it, but hopefully we can nick another 1-niller instead.

Early doors I wasn't sure how our bunch of young lads would get on but think we've seen enough now to feel confident they're going to keep improving, we seem to be getting much more gritty and solid and all that's left is creating a bit more up front. So another good test of that progress and like you say likely low scoring; if we start clicking midfield and further forward though could be the start of a real good run.

Just read we have a young midfielder in on loan from Bournemouth, expect making a good impression Wednesday helped. Not much chance we'll see him Saturday you'd think.

Yeah doubt it, only trained for the first time today so probably make his debut in the Checkatrade on Tuesday. Be useful having another option in there, especially a creative one and what with Ebou being away on international duty next week the squad was looking a bit thin.

I agree that a 0-0 is a likely outcome. Our first two away games have been 0-0 & our attack hasn’t really got firing this season so far.

I don 't see Newport coming just to sit back. Usually a full on, no quarter given encounter. We're on something of a high, competition for places has never been higher. Should be a proper tear-up.

Well, it's probably fair to say that if you pass it to your keeper a lot sometimes it's going to lead to an embarrassing fuck up. Or two.

Being 1-0 down and having our keeper sent off in the first 28 mins wasn't the ideal start. Thought we did ok after that, but given how toothless we are it was never going to be easy to get back. Shame for Thomas to let that goal in at the end, won't help his confidence although apparently Wollacott will only be banned for Cambridge.

Newport knew exactly how to play us, and we played right into their hands. They'll be right up there imo, whether we are or not depends on whether we can sort the balance of our midfield out and start creating more chances. Also put McCoulsky or Stevens up top with Allen, he's got talent but needs a partner up front.

The keeper is nuts! Was all over the shop at Vale Park and spent half the game higher than his centre halves! He’s like that crazy keeper you get when playing on the park that tries to dribble past everyone!

Was only a matter of time before that happened.
A loon but very entertaining.
