Grimsby seem to enjoy their goalless draws, we don't really do goalless draws. Something's gotta give. Both teams level on points, both having perhaps underwhelming seasons in terms of expectation. A game that is winnable from the perspective of both teams. We're better away than at home, although could only draw with Chesterfield last time out. We won't have Nicky Adams.

Kind of need to win here as we’re going to Luton on Tuesday night so will come away with nothing there.

I expect we’ll fuck up. After hammering someone, we nearly always fuck up the following match. After stuffing Crewe 5-0 we shat our pants at Brunton Park in the next match. I expect the same here.

Plus Curle will pick a negative “here for a 0-0” starting lineup like he did at chesterfield in our last away game

Grimsby to go into a 2-0 lead before Curle decides to change things. We grab a consolation goal and push for an equaliser, but too little too late.

I want a home win of course, expect 3-1, but will settle for 3 points however we get them and how many goals we score. Our fortunes have to change soon, so why not against Carlisle?

We might if we're lucky score 2 more goals by Christmas but we certainly won't be scoring them in one game, especially not with the 7-3-0 formation Slade seems to favour.
And rumour has it that he's asked the FA for special permission to play 2 goalkeepers and only 9 outfield players for this one to really go all out for a 0-0.

I've forgotten we've even played our last two games and that'll probably be the case again tomorrow as I check Twitter at gone 5pm to see Grimsby nil. Can't stand the club at the minute and the only thing I'm really looking forward to is the upcoming fans forum which will surely be a treat. As for the game, I expect it to be incredibly boring.

The certainty the Grimsby fans have that they'll score nil only makes me more and more wary that it's going to be 3-0 to them :/

The only positive for tomorrow is Paul Dixon is suspended so even if we replace him with nobody, the team will still have a better look to it.
Can't ever remember a worse left back than him here.

If we manage to score 3 against you with this team then you should instantly be relegated to the National League North as a fitting punishment.

I think if they take the lead, we’ll score, because that will mean we will mean we have to change tactics and attack.

Hopefully the tactical change comes when we’re 1 behind rather than 2 or 3.

Usually a 0-0 wouldn’t be a bad scoreline here. So on one hand you can see why Curle will set us up to get a 0-0, but on this occasion, with defeat at Luton coming on Tuesday, we could do with a win tomorrow to keep that poInts gap between us and 7th as narrow as possible going into the Morecambe match.

When Nicky Adams went off injured last week, we brought on Shaun Miller and went for it and scored 3 more goals.

The fact Curle has replaced Nicky Adams with a defensive midfielder says everything about our tactics going into todays game.

Very negative and there to take a 0-0.

We've made 4 changes but he's still kept pissing Vernon in the team and dropped Sam Jones ffs!
Good news though he's finally started Jaiyesimi who's looked excellent from the bench so we with him and Dembele we should at least pose a threat up front after all these blanks lately.

Well Curle has made me look silly.

Fair play, another vital win which I’m very happy with.

I stand by my thoughts though that we’re good enough to attack more against certain teams. The negativity backfired at chesterfield, but it’s worked today.

Now we can go to Luton and expect defeat but hope we can nick a point

I know Grimsby aren't great and struggle to score, but very happy with the 3 points. We're up to 11th, 6 unbeaten and just look solid.

I'm actually confident we can get a point from Luton, some fans will be expecting goals again and if we keep it tight we'll frustrate them. 4 clean sheets in 5 away from home.

They did under-perform after that famous opening day win over Yeovil so maybe you have a point, the time to play a free-scoring team is after they've just annihilated someone.

Grimsby sounded quite bad on the radio and I imagine had we opened up a bit we could have won more comfortably, but can't argue with the logic of playing defensively away from home and it got the result we wanted.

And only 3500 home fans for a Saturday 3PM kick off, awful.
Slade and Fenty fuck off and do one before there are no fans left.
I spent the day in Brigg and I barely checked the score as I've sadly stopped caring while these muppets are in charge.

I expect us to lose, but not by much. I think we’re solid enough defensively to not buckle, but it will be backs to the walls so probably a 1 or 2 goal defeat.

Both teams were quite shit. We had several chances to score in the first half but didn’t take them. Negative, awful tactics, mixed with bad players and bored fans, is going to see us slide further and further towards the relegation spots.
