Sheff Utd first day. Birthday weekend, always like to be at home first, and gives us a chance to make a statement for the season ahead.

Vale at home and away, the only Staffordshire derby in the football league. We are only around 30 miles apart and we owe them big style for that 7-1 thrashing the last time we visited Vale Park. Have a feeling we will handle things much better this time round.

To be fair not one stands out. All the home games are shite.

Never been to Wigan, Millwall, Burton or Southend, so I am looking forward to them I guess.

Don't mention any other game bar Stoke City being a derby game or they will have an epileptic fit.

If it's pubs your after head in to Rochester, about two stops away on the train or a ten minute drive. Plenty of decent pubs and places to eat out, spend as little time in Gillingham as possible.

Don't go for a night out in Gillingham, or Medway at all for that matter. Maidstone has a good nightlife and is close. Travelodge in the town centre does good deals most of the time if you book in time. Depending what sort of night you're after let me know and I'll give you an idea - might even buy you a pint as I'm out that night!

Cheers for the reply lads. Yes just a few decent lively pubs goes down well with our lot. I will look into the two options youve mentioned. I think staying for the night is definitely the best option so will book up when its 100% confirmed not on tv.

Canterbury is decent for pubs but not clubs if you're out after a game. Quite a bit further away than Maidstone though.

Could just stay in London, though you'll probably be mugged or not appreciated.

Stayed in london loads of times so not doing that. Looked at margate but thats too far from gillingham so too much fucking about. Will look at one of the two options ive been given on here and stay at 1 of them i reckon.

It's not a proper Derby no but a decent local game, certainly zero animosity from Vale fans many of whom have a soft spot for Burton, I'd like to see them do well. That 7-1 night was an incredible memory as was the 3-0 the night we went into administration and the club was back as one again from the V2001. Will be a different game although at the moment we've got a few signings to make before I'd like to call on our chances certainly in it.

I'm looking forward to Coventry on Boxing Day away. Being Boxing Day we should take more than we did (1700) this season which was a great atmosphere within the away end so hopefully be a good tie. Burton home and away will be good. Looking forward to ticking Wigan off and maybe Southend if the missus will allow it!

Why does your misses not like Southend is it lack of respect or is there another reason

Crewe at home on Sat 9th April.

Sure, there's the usual gaggle of 12 year olds setting off flares and dancing along to Chelsea Dagger - 'We are Crewe, We are Crewe, We are, We are, We are Crewe', but with ui being only 6 games from the end of the season there's a realistic chance that it'll be the game that sends them down after grimly holding onto League One status for the past two seasons.

Millwall away, I love a trip to The Den (if we don't lose).

Also, Burton away. Last trip there was a fantastic day out and I think us and the Brewers fans quite enjoyed the end of season love-in in the sunshine.
