No idea what to expect this season, but not confident at all, don't think we have improved our squad and so can see a season of struggle.

So we will probably win on Saturday and the fishy will be full of threads about promotion

Yep, same as Frealaf. Not confident. However, there are about 6 or 7 sets of supporters on here that are way too confident. Will be interesting to see which ones are justified, as they can't all be.

Nah, forget this all in one thread crap.

Will start a Crewe vs Mansfield thread in a few days time.

Nope, democracy went into action and it was landslide victory for one single match thread.

Plus the single match thread on the final weekend was a big success with 7 plus pages until stags hacked the forum and forced us to lose two weeks of data!

Wycombe have got a decent squad but no real depth whatsoever. They've only made 2 signings too with El-Abd and Tyson. Hardly groundbreaking.

We usually tend to do ok on the opening day, and a draw at Accrington would be ok. So I'll go for a draw.

We're shit and away at Morecambe, who I read are also shit.

It promises to be a cracking opening day of the season for us both.

Feel free to start a thread to discuss the opening weekend / closing weekend of the season, but don't refer to it as a 'match thread' or I'll report you to trading standards.

Nope quite the opposite.

I've never really cared what Grimsby fans have thought and we'll start a thread. If you don't like it, bad luck

Don't see a Luton one so I guess I'll use this one - thought it was agreed that there would be one thread but if you wanted to have your own that was fine too?

Not seen is this pre season to really comment on how we have played but bit concerned we may be slightly under cooked - doesn't feel like the first team have had a great amount of games together really as we have dicked about with some strange line ups for the most part. Although apparently the performance against Scunthorpe was apparently good.

Bit disappointing that Hylton and Justin haven't been involved at all, hope that that doesn't affect their seasons too much - always feel like missing pre season has a pretty big impact on players and often they never really hit the heights you expect after.

As a result of that I expect us to start a little sluggishly perhaps with an edgy draw, from which of course conclusions of our early demise will be drawn

I couldn't give a fuck what you do, you asked a question about how the match thread vote went and I answered it.
Get a grip.

We've seen some shit move on like Gary Thompson And Sam Wood who wasn't the same player for the last 2 seasons which was a shame, the only big loss we had was Pierre but most of last seasons squad is signed up for another 1 or 2 years so we might have some stability if the likes of Sam Saunders,Paris Cowan-Hall and Scott Kashket can stay injury free for a change.

After news of Harry Pell going, our fans have gone into absolute meltdown.

I, on the other hand, remain confident that it won't be so bad. An early goal at Morecambe will definitely settle the nerves.

Never a good idea to read much if anything at all in the first game of the season.

Getting your excuses in early then. :bye:

In all seriousness you're right. Plymouth got beaten 3-zip at home to us last season. Look what happened there. But we really should be 6 points from 6 in 1 week and 5 hours time.

Nervous, keen to get off to a good start to at least start to repair the pain of last season (from November onwards at least!)

Browny and Morgan have built an experienced and physically capable side mixed with some promising youngsters so hoping we can have a very good season but you can never tell until it all begins.

Crawley seem to be one of the favourites to go down and we've only won 2 away games in the last 16 months!

Hoping for a 2-1 win Pope and Pyke but will probably be a draw... hoping our 13 year unbeaten opening day run continues.

Luton Town team to face Yeovil Town today:

(4-4-2 diamond)
Marek Stech, Jack Stacey, Dan Potts, Alan Sheehan, Scott Cuthbert; Alan McCormack, Olly Lee, Pelly Ruddock-Mpanzu, Andrew Shinnie; Isaac Vassell, James Collins
Subs: Johnny Mullins, Jordan Cook, Glen Rea, Jack Senior, Luke Gambin, Elliot Lee, James Shea

One change from the team that beat Scunthorpe last weekend. Lawson D'Ath not in the 18 at all, so I guess that's an injury there.

Just back from the game. 3-3 draw with Newport. They were the better team and despite coming back from 3-1 down and scoring in the 94th minute to level, I think they can consider themselves unlucky to go home with just a point.

Was a nothing game until we took the lead, there on after Newport were the better side, they deservedly leveled early in the second half before we managed to open up a 3-1 advantage. Nothing we could do about their second, a fantastic strike at the second attempt. Newport pressured but our inability to defend at set pieces cost us in the end.

Newport deserved something from the game but still disappointing to lose a two goal lead with just 20 minutes to play. I thought Fryer, Gorman and Newton had good game for us whilst Nouble was a handful for Newport, quite how he missed one of the chances presented to him in the first half I'll never know but I guess he made up for it with the leveler in the second.
