Hopefully we can bounce back from defeat and get 3 points here.

2-0 to the Vale. Pope and Whitfield with the goals on the second half.

We're Gunning for you! Well, he's starting anyway, as are a couple of other new boys including Reid. Might be a bit too soon against a form team but here's hopiing Reuben and Christian hit it off from the get go.

Editing as Grubb and Whittle on bench

Just noticed you’re staring a few of your new players, brave that is.

Totally forgot Lee Collins played for Forest Green.

Like that Vale line-up with Worrall in it as well. Some good attacking options.

Given our recent run of form we might as well expect is the thinking. Considering how well Doidge has done with very slim pickings really hoping he'll make hay with a quality partner. Midfield still a bit light, only new face there is on the bench and a punt on a NLS player (prolific at that level mind)

After beating two, drawing one and harshly losing one against the top three and the form team in Colchester then with two of the strugglers you just know what Vale will do here!

Play the high press and put in the levels we have recently we should win the game but with us heavy favourites it makes me nervous!

Unless I heard wrong, our training pitches are waterlogged so new boys bedded in by video instruction. That doesn't bode too well.

Sounds a dour game so far with little chances. Fancy Aspin to throw another striker on (likely Barnett) at half time to try and repeat the turnarounds pre Xmas.

Sort this out Aspin, sounds dire.

1-0 down, sounds like they deserve it on balance.

Awful.

Doing that thing we do where we sit far too deep and invite too much pressure on to us.

Been awful it sounds, why has Whitfield gone off?! Got Barnett on now... should of done that at half time.

Already cut out a lot of the errors that have seen us under pressure too often, hope this is a sign of the second half of the season to come. Not that you've not made a few chances so nowhere near home and hosed, but out of the drop spots as it stands.

By far the poorest result of Aspins reign and so typical of Vale after recent weeks to throw that stinker in.

Huge game next week now to ensure we don’t fall back into the battle. Very very poor Vale, for all the plaudits of recent weeks they deserve a bashing for that.

Game over, seemed just never really got going today.

Said before the game, in my nearly 20 years going Vale we always lose to the worst sides in a dire run. Always!

A massive two point cushion over Chesterfield now with a game in hand. Perhaps we're here to stay.

I'd expect so. To be honest although you've struggled for the first few months always felt you could pull away from danger as your chairman looks the sort to back his manager financially. Best of luck.

Hoping so, been enough games where we've competed only to shoot ourselves in the foot or gift a soft one, so cut that out and we're there or there abouts.

Sounds like we weren’t up for it today.

I said the other week it would be so typical of Vale to beat Coventry and Luton then lose to Forest Green and Yeovil.

We need to bounce back next week because we could very easily get dragged back into the relegation fight.

Just listening to Cooper and he reckons we kept Pope (who he clearly really rates) quiet as much as you not getting going. Hard to tell either way from commentary only.

Our crossing was an abomination apparently which means he wasn’t getting fed like the early part of the season.

Can’t believe the over reaction on OVF mind! We’re doomed!
