Promotion/PlayOff implications flying about all over the place for this one. Stevenage will be looking to halt our three game hot streak (10 goals to nil) and bounce back from a loss at the very-good-on-their-day Blackpool on Tuesday night. Stevenage were previously the form team up to that game with a brilliant set of results since the end of January.

There has been no news about the injuries to Bennett and Naismith, but I wouldn't be surprised to see either or both missing from the team sheet, which will be a loss given their recent form. Time for our squad depth to hopefully come to the fore.

All things considered, I would be very happy with a draw here to keep things ticking along. We have plenty of easier looking fixtures on the horizon.

One of the two big games of the day (Leyton v Donnie being the other). Pompey the Great can afford to lose or draw this, Stevenage if they want an automatic spot probably can't. From a selfish point of view draw or Pompey win please.

A draw isn't the end of the world here but a win would put an end to Stevenage's hopes of automatic promotion and would at least keep Luton and Carlisle at arm's length.

A win here and it really is ours to fuck up.

We can't win em all though, and if anything this pompey side is consistent at, it's failing to put a run together. Don't think a loss would be catastrophic providing we bounce straight back.

Tough game so I'd be happy with a point.

Stevenage fans - how hospitable are you to away fans in the home sections? Our last 2 away games have seen well over 2000 fans travel as the promotion run in excitement starts to build. We sold our allocation some time ago, and it is noted that it's pay on the day, so for many, that's the only option. Hopefully 'ours' will keep their heads down and no trouble will occur. Vaguely remember some unsavoury scenes against Luton recently?

6 in a row now.

edit: just saw that Chaplin tried to chip it and fool the keeper instead of just putting his foot through it.. no bloody wonder he missed. And no wonder he's been on the bench with antics like that! Eejit

I saw the goals on SSN this morning & was hoping they would show the pen but they didn't. Perhaps there is a hint of hidden masochism in me.

Haven't seen it but if he did try to chip it down the middle then he deserved to miss! Twat!

Oh well... a bit strange for Cook to change the system he's used for the last two years, straight off the back of three wins and our best form this season. Surely we had the players to slot in for Naismith and Bennett (Roberts, Lowe, Chaplin etc)?

However, well played Stevenage. Looks like the Blackpool loss was just a small blip and they're still bang on form.

As for us, we have three winnable fixtures now and need at least 7 points to keep Stevenage at bay.

The penalty misses have now turned into an epidemic. I'd throw the ball to Evans. He's an uncomplicated player who will just walk up and hit it.
