Supporters of clubs who were knocking about in the National League back in 2021 will be well aware that our manager at the time, James Rowe, was suspended and subsequently sacked for an alleged sexual assault incident whilst we were flying high top of the league.

He’s been court at Derby the last couple of days for his trial after it got pushed back a year last autumn.

None of the finer details ever came out at the time understandably, everyone just knew it was over a sexual assault allegation. But the attached article now provides a detailed account of what he’s alleged to have done…

A grim read that, feel for that woman who had to go through that.

I still can't believe he got the Fylde job after all this. They must have known. Pretty sure it was common knowledge at the time that he'd exposed himself, wasn't it?

That and the Kabongoals injury really fucked up your season too.

Stockport County.
Great season that.

If there was a movie to be made on it I'd go Christian Bale to play Rowe, reprising a similar role to the one he played in American Psycho.

Daniel Craig as title winning heart throb Dave Challinor. Or if Craig's busy on Bond, throw Martin Clunes a role.

Warwick Davis as Paul Hurst.

Tells you everything you need to know about Fylde owner doesn’t it!

Nothing official was ever said but it was common knowledge it was a masseuse and that he’d flashed.

Think cracks were showing before this all came out. His position had gone to his head and he was gradually letting his real self show - a vile, disgusting bully.

I tell you what he never came across as a particular nice professional gentleman with his antics on the sidelines or his post match interviews.

Probably is not guilty of sexual assault.

Still a fucking weird, egotistical creep though, isn't he? Obviously speaks to and treats women appallingly.

reading the reports you could tell he wouldn’t be found guilty. Hope no professional club gives him a chance though. Plenty of people had experience of him being an arrogant egotistical bully and had some sort of trouble everywhere he’s worked (not sure about Gloucester)

Some Gloucester fans still think he's amazing - those with a brain though see him for the egotistical prick he is.

Also - he's never been forgiven for the way he left them and took their best players (who then hardly played for Chesterfield anyway)

He brought Asante, Whittle and Carline with him, if memory serves me well. Carline and Asante did well and played regularly at first but then were hit by serious injuries. By the time Asante got back Cook was the manager and once it became clear he’d lost the remaining pace he had, he was cut. I don’t think George Carline ever played for us again, which was a shame as he was a solid pro.

I really liked Carline when he first came. Preferred him to King at first.

Whittle seemed to fall out of Rowe’s favour for no apparent reason.

Legal nuances, ambiguity and debates aside…a quite clearly truly hideous man.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he tries to take legal action against Chesterfield now.

He resigned thankfully.

Had a lot of weird baggage going back to his West Ham days. Seems to have some sort of personality disorder- hopefully no clubs touch him (no pun intended) again.

You can still raise a constructive dismissal case even if you resigned if it came about due to the employer committing some sort of contractual breach or there was coercion. I obviously hope he doesn’t.
