Two defeats on the bounce has changed this from a massive game to us into about of a damp squib. Tranmere have picked up though in recent weeks and have surged into the play offs. So I'm expecting a tough game and a big crowd and atmosphere. Although the away crowd won't now be as good, I was expecting 1000 plus a few weeks ago, now with our form and it being live on ifollow probably only about 700. We've beat Tranmere twice this season and scored plenty of goals Vs them so hopefully that's a good omen.

Tranmere 2-2 Crewe (Norwood, Pringle, Porter, Kirk) 6,566 (711 railwaymen)

The Tranmere you have beaten twice this season was a very different one to what you will face tomorrow. 4 wins and a draw in our last 5 games (including 4 clean sheets) means that we are high on confidence right now since the arrival of Perkins, Pringle and Morris has totally changed our midfield and the pairing of Monthe and Ellis at the back have given us a good defensive base. I fancy us for a 2-0 win tomorrow night with Norwood continueing his goal scoring run. One thing I can guarantee is that Charlie Kirk is in for a rough night from our fans after his disgusting antics at Gresty Road.

Disgusting? What did he do that was 'disgusting' exactly? I'm betting nothing.

As for the game, yeah, not a lot to disagree with from the above. We're settling into mid-table as expected whilst Tranmere have hit form at just the right time.

If we can anything out of this game, I'd be delighted. Expecting a fairly routine home win though.

Rolled all over the floor at the slighest touch, repeated got in the ref`s face pointing at Tranmere players and waving fake yellow cards. He generally acted like an total tosser for the last 20 minutes of the game and to make matters worse he constanted grinned and winked at the Rovers fans while doing do. Horrible skinny little gremlin.

Charlie Kirk last minute winner it is then................

Is Zoom still getting in your team, he got exposed in the last game Vs us, his defensive game will always be a weakness if he's playing, he's decent going forward but will get caught out at the back, like Ainley did to him last time out.

We are generally very solid at home. Bang in form with a near fully fit squad, Crewe travel terribly both in support and points wise.. so surely only one team can win this one? Hopefully we don’t blow it.

We’ve actually struggled against the leagues average teams so the next three games against Crewe, Grimsby and Oldham will make or break our season. 7pts in this block if games and I can’t see us failing to make playoffs from that position.

The away game at Crewe was a frustrating one, we didn’t close them down with any real energy or purpose and I can’t see that mistake being made again. The little prick Kirk will no doubt roll around all game again and Artell will try to be a knock off Cowley, so hopefully our lot don’t drop to their level.

Prediction 2-0 Rovers
Norwood & Monthe
8156 attendance

Oh no, not winding up away fans. Urgh, what a horrible individual. As for the other stuff, that is so incredibly standard for most teams, any fan who criticises another teams player for doing so risks instantly being labelled a hypocrite.

Oh and people can take their shitty boring jokes elsewhere.

Our recent away form is actually not too bad, were unbeaten since new year's Day. Plus our support won't be too bad probably 700 plus. Which is decent for a nothing game on a Friday night that fans can watch at home for a tenner.

I can remember Chris Shuker doing the exact same for Tranmere in about 2006/07??? Didn't hear many of them whining then.

Kinda hilarious to see a team that employs Jay Harris whinge about another team's players lacking discipline.

As for our away form, yes, it sounds impressive when you word it like that, but the reality is another story. It's only 4 games unbeaten and of those, we needed a last minute penalty to draw at 21st placed Morecambe, blew 3 leads at 23rd placed Macclesfield to draw and scraped a last minute draw at Oldham. The only impressive result all season we've had away from home is the MK Dons game. Aside from that, it's been scraping draws against the bottom 8 or beating a Stevenage team that was down to 10 men for 78 minutes.

Shuker was terrible for it, recall him winning Tranmere a pen at Vale Park with a dive...

Didn't stop me loving him mind when he was part of that Vale promo squad!

Most clubs have players that do it... Ellis who is 6'2 went down like a sack of shit every time 5'5 Ben Whitfield challenged for a ball with him a couple of weeks back!

Dare say some of ours are guilty too.

Can I suggest you look at some of the people your club employed before you start having a go at us.

As has been commented, we have lost twice to Crewe this season but with very different teams to the one that will start tomorrow. Our reserves threw away a 3-1 lead in the Checkatrade and while it was a really poor performance in the defeat at Gresty Road, with Crewe walking through our midfield that day, only one of that quartet will start tomorrow (McCullough).

A crucial run of fixtures coming up and we need a minimum of seven points from the next three games, before a run of really difficult matches against promotion chasing sides.

The crowd will almost certainly be 7,000 plus, as we have pre-sold 6,000 tickets.

I always consider it a derby, but one where there is no real needle or rivalry between the clubs. Crewe is actually our closest fixture this season.

He was dropped shortly after that game. Came back into the side in the New Year and has been excellent, as have the whole back four (four clean sheets in the last five games).

From the bits and pieces I’ve seen of Crewe this season they score some really good team goals whilst conceding some really daft ones. Had them down as dark horses for a play off spec a couple of weeks ago but that seems to have fizzled out. Wouldn’t surprise me if they are there or there about next season.
Will be interesting to see how Tranmere go on if we concede the first goal. Another tight game I expect.

Don’t understand why Crewe fans here are bothered what we think of Kirk. Kind of a back-handed compliment that he got under some skins so much. Personally thought Ainley was the better player on the day at Gresty Road, proving a real handful.

Like the previous post, think this will be a tight game. It wouldn’t be a total surprise to see Crewe emerge with something.

Never known a Crewe side (and, mostly, the manager) to wind up the opposition as much as this one. It’s fine by me after decades of being a soft touch.

Ainley was immense in the home game. Frustrating he can’t reach that level more often as, for me, between him and Kirk at their best Ainley is by far the better player. Just never shows it as much.

I couldn’t make the Northampton game but seems like our drab performance vs Exeter was carried into that one. We’ve been needing to mix it up for as few weeks now but we’ve gone stale and become predictable. Carry on in that vein and we could get soundly beaten tonight.

This SHOULD be a cracker. Like Tranmere as a club, fantastic stadium too. 2 buses, 4 trains and a lot of walking for a Cheshire derby is far too much though.

Weird init? Got to admit I am enjoying our new found ruffling tactics. No one likes us, we don’t care. (Everyone used to like us )

That’s what it is, just a good local game, no anymosity and some exciting encounters over the years.

Tight game, could and probably should have ended all square. Season well and truly over now. Very good crowd and atmosphere also.

Yes, a largely scrappy, tight match but I thought we had the clearer chances and deserved to win it. Mellon changed the game when he switched to five in midfield and brought Banks on, which gave us much more control. I think Crewe had edged the midfield battle until then.

Norwood was absolutely immense and could have had a hat trick in a match where we were never at our best. His finish for the winner was superb.

Credit to the Crewe fans who came in decent numbers and made a lot of noise.

Tight game, but we edged it - not complaining. Crewe fans were excellent, the game mostly terrible and a huge three points for us. Norwood has turned so many nailed on nil-nils into scrappy 1-0 wins in the last three years, we'll miss him.

Oh and it's never a derby, it's a geographically close fixture where there's zero animosity and we trade home wins every year.

Hey 2018 Crewe, nice of you to show your face.

Major gripe: Not sure on Artell’s thinking in keeping Jones on for 90 minutes. Blatantly not fit enough and a liability for much of the 2nd half.

Some times it’s beneficial to show some faith and belief into our boys in the long run though, isn’t it? I trust them.

Yes, but on that basis, you'd never make any subs or alter a team between games.

Yes, since the turn of the year, having faith has paid off. But based on the whole season, this group has consistently failed to deliver in the critical moments. The attack has been non-existant based on the last 4, so making changes sounds like a better idea than flogging a player that has just come back from a long injury lay off, especially given the fact they have a game on Tuesday and he played for the U23s earlier in the week.

Speaking to a Tranmere supporting friend, he sits in the little stand down the side. He thinks our fans were the loudest at Prenton Park p4p in a long time. Which considering we didn't even score and how bias he usually is, that's quite a compliment.
