I'm not expecting much of a return from this game for obvious reasons. The next two games against Vale and Macc are far more important but it would be nice to put in a good performance against the Imps and hopefully boost our confidence further after two wins on the bounce.

It's no coincidence IMHO that we started to win games when the takeover was confirmed, although our manager won't be drawn on that theory.

2-1 to Lincoln with a hardy group of 50 Glovers in attendance.

This is an ideal time to turn our home draws (3 in a row and 7(!) this season) into wins.

Will be interesting to see whether we have a change of approach at home and go 4-4-2, pairing Rhead and Akinde together at the expense of a Rowe/McCartan type player.

Yeovil seem to have picked up a little but this is an opportunity to go 5 clear heading into the Saturday games and it's one we need to be taking.

O'Connor went off against FGR with a knock, Rowe missed the FGR game, presumably with an injury as well, and there's no Habergham (been out nearly a year) or Frecklington.

Gilks

Eardley
Bostwick
Shackell
Toffolo

Anderson
O'Connor (or Pett)
O'Hara
Andrade

Rhead
Akinde

Subs - Vickers, Bolger, Pett, Rowe, McCartan, Angol and a youth player.

Andrade went off with a knock as well I think.
My daughter wants to see Rheady and Akinde up front again cos that much better than before they weren't together in the last home game she told me last night.

Well according to Mr Way, we have the biggest squad and the biggest budget!?

Mr. Way has also claimed on numerous occasions that we have the youngest squad in the top four leagues. We actually have the 8th youngest squad in League 2.

Mr. Way has been proven on many, many occasions that he doesn't know what he is talking about and none of us take any notice of him.

We have 24 players in the first team squad, 3 are keepers, one on loan to Chesterfield and one hasn't played all season.
Or does mean in terms of size? Got that one before the Exeter game, Lincoln players are all monsters. These managers need to try and come up with some original about us LOL!!!
Budget definitely in the top 4 I would guess, County have the biggest....

Let’s be honest Lincoln fans can’t exactly get mardy considering Cowley has said a few untrue things as ‘facts’ this season aswell.

All managers talk crap we all know that.

Course, he’s feeling the pressure though, this is the perfect game to get back to winning at home

Not read the whole thread so apologies if it has been mentioned.

But why the Friday night game ?
Back in the day Tranmere, Stockport and maybe Crewe were regularly on a Friday but a Friday now is very unusual.

In Danny's press conference yesterday he said they like a Friday night game occasionally and Yeovil were keen too, so it was swapped.
Much prefer Saturday but it's done now and I'm looking forward to the game.

As I said elsewhere, we made hard work of that. The Yeovim keeper was riemwastjng from the second minute and the ref gave practically nothing, let everything go and we had two strong shouts for penalties turned down. Got there in the end, just ground it out.

Under Cowley we're rarely going to thrash anyone but we hardly ever lose. It's not especially pretty but it's effective and we do play some good stuff at times and in all honesty we probably should have played more football tonight rather than lumping it up to Rhead and Akinde.

Nice to have a chilled weekend where the pressure is off. 5 points ahead and the games are running out for our rivals.

Good result for Lincoln, always got to win those kind of games. Yeovil arent bad at parking the bus and making it difficult.

Not heard of anyone riemwastjng before, sounds painful.

Well 1-0 was better than I expected. We had more of the possession but a lot less chances. This game was written off as unimportant beforehand, the next two are far more vital.

Just watched the highlights. Someone should shove that siren where the sun don't shine.

We really should have won more that far more comfortably than we did; we could have easily got 3 or 4 if our finishing wasn't so poor. Despite not being at our best (how many times have we said that this season) we were deserved winners.

Yeovil weren't terrible, but, lacked and real quality in front of goal. They actually looked fairly dangerous on the counter, though I'm not sure if that's because we're a fairly slow team. Fortunately for us I've never seen a team overhit so many long balls straight to our keeper/out of play. Ultimately they never looked like scoring.

I've never seen a team timewasting so soon in a game (and it worked to a degree), even when Yeovil were on top! The keeper was fortunate to last until the 47th minute before being booked. For what it's worth didn't think either of our penalty shouts were penaltys on first viewing.

We didn't play well but we still created a handful of good chances and got the all important 3 points.

Couldn't make it last night, but unless the Yeovil lads had a sit down protest during the game, I doubt they were a patch on Wycombe last season!
