After the somewhat deflating and undeserved defeat against Oxford last weekend, we are back in action against a notoriously stubborn Accrington.

On our own patch the onus is on us to take the game to our opponents and I am sure we will. Hopefully we will be able to turn our domination of games into goals and return to winning ways.

It's never an easy game against a John Coleman team and they will come looking to frustrate and then capitalise on any chances they get on the counter attack. It has worked against us many times in the past, but I would like to think we have enough about us to ensure it doesn't happen again.

We should have a new signing on board in the shape of highly rated goalkeeper Lee Nicholls, so fingers crossed he can keep a clean sheet on his debut.

Thoughts Gasheads (and any Stanley fans if there are any on here!)?

I hate playing accy , they love beating us . I'll go with a 3 - 1 win for us but I wouldn't be surprised at all if they turn us over .

I'm driving down with 3 others saturday morning (providing my car makes it - its knackered)
Whats it like for parking at your ground?
Yes we have a good record against the gas in recent years although we seem to be the draw specialists so far drawing 4 out of 6. I'll take 1-1.
Lee Nicholls had a brief loan spell with us back in 2012 when Paul Cook was our manager - don't remember much about him as we tend to go through 5 or 6 keepers each season.
It was a great achievement to bounce back from non-league after 1 year - it took us 44 years!

As Aber says SF, there are plenty of spaces on the streets around the ground, although the later you arrive the more difficult it will be to find somewhere within a few minutes walk. It's certainly no bad thing to arrive early though, as there are plenty of pubs and eateries on Gloucester Road.

44 years is how long we all feared it would take us if we didn't manage it in the first year! It's so good to be back, especially now we have a manager and a team to be proud of.

Have a safe trip down.

under-estimate stanley at your peril...most do!!
You don't need to tell us that mate. We have a shocking record against them and I'm well aware that Coleman has done a good job for them. I do actually think we will win but that is not because I am underestimating Accy. It is more a case of how much I believe current squad of players we have.

Absolutely awful today. Definitely the worst performance we've put in under Darrell Clarke.

A lot of the blame lies with him, as he changed formation unnecessarily just to play all four of our (very similar) central midfielders, and it meant we played with absolutely no width or creativity. The second half couldn't have been any worse and we did play slightly better when we reverted back to 3-5-2, but we had no pace or energy about us. Everything was laboured and we showed no quality in the final third whatsoever.

I don't understand what the problem is, because during our three game winning run we looked as though we would beat anybody we came up against. We weren't just wining games, we were dominating them. Now, since Leadbitter got injured, we haven't looked anywhere near as good. We didn't deserve to lose to Oxford last weekend, but today we can have no complaints.

I still have absolute trust in DC, but I am intrigued to hear his explanation of why he changed things around for no reason. The other worrying thing is that a few of the players look too comfortable in their positions for my liking because they know they won't get dropped (Lines, Brown).

Credit to the few (literally) Accy fans who came down and no doubt enjoyed their day.

Learning curve for DC this. Unless we play the top team, we shouldn't be changing our tactics at home to suit the away team. We should take the game to them!

Must've been texting Hendon on Friday, as that's exactly what we did as well.

Your won't be surprised to hear I really enjoyed the day out yesterday (had a pre-match drink in Irene's bar too) - although I'm quite alarmed at how low our away attendances are. I thought it was a great goal and a number of decisions did go our way - how we didn't score that second right at the end is beyond me! It seems we played you at the right time cos I think you've got a good team.

I think we do too, but DC likes tinkering a bit too much. Yesterday he got everything horribly wrong unfortunately.

I did think you were going to score the second when the lad ran through. Nicholls did well to force him wide in the end!
