The Gas take on one of the relegated sides for the first time this season. Bolton have started well under Parkinson with two wins but we don't respect any reputations and our home form is imperious.
With a well rested squad, revitalised midfield general in Chris Lines and a insatiable Matty Taylor we will have far too much for the Trotters. Expect some blitzkrieg attacking football and a well deserved 2-0 victory. Taylor and Bodin for us. UTG :ds::bdick::box:.... Etc

Be interesting to see what shape we go into this one. DC tends to flip to 3-5-2 when going more conservative but I think 4-4-2 suits us more at the moment. Home record is excellent, something along the lines of 14 wins and 1 draw in the last 15, but Bolton will test us without a shadow of doubt, they have started the season well. Should be a good game. Going to be positive for once and say 2-1 Rovers.

Good start for Bolton but I think it'll be an exciting 3-2 rovers win. Won't predict the lineup as it's near impossible with DC in charge!
Also, Our last 16 home games read:
Wycombe 3-0
York 2-1
Orient 2-1
Luton 2-0
Plymouth 1-1
Morecambe 2-1
Hartlepool 4-1
Wimbledon 3-1
Mansfield 1-0
Cambridge 3-0
Crawley 3-0
Yeovil 2-1
Exeter 3-1
Dagenham 2-1
Cardiff 1-0
Oxford 2-1
15 wins out of 16. Of course, now that I've highlighted this, we'll probably go and fek it up Wednesday...

Hope it works out better for Bolton than their last trip to Bristol!

I missed the win in 1984 as it was a Tuesday night and was still at school at the time

Last time I saw Bolton at ours was 1971/72 season. Think we won either 2-0 or 2-1.

Frustrating. The biggest step up I've seen in this division against Scunny and Bolton is that if you slip up, you get punished. Two poor mistakes in the first half and we faced an uphill battle. Second half was pretty much an attack vs counter training drill but we didn't create enough clear cut chances for okay build up play. Bolton were very strong, physical and resolute, and going forward, clinical. But a big shame to not get a point.

100% agree.

They knew every trick in the book when it came to earning free kicks from a weak referee and that disrupted our flow whenever we built up a head of steam. Feel aggrieved we didn't get a point but we don't seem to be getting any luck at the moment - something Lockyer alluded to after the game.

DC adamant we will sign 3-4 players before the deadline, which is encouraging. With that many additions I think we will be very well equipped because Bolton weren't a million miles better than us. Apparently one out on loan tomorrow... Gosling? Lawrence? Or maybe someone a little more obvious like Lucas?

As soon as I saw Bolton's line up I thought we were screwed, that's an amazing set of players for League 1.

Bolton's side is a lot better on paper than I thought, but I think that's because they've kept on players and not bought loads. Opposite to Charlton basically.

Anyway, bit disappointed with us yesterday at least for the first 30/40 mins. Bolton played like a Parkinson side does, not pretty but effective. Fair play to them but when we're punting the ball up to two relatively small strikers it'll never work. Did better when we got the ball down, but it was too late by then.

Unsure if Bolton will challenge at the top but they'll do alright for sure. Much better than I predicted in the summer.
