Firstly, any Crewe (or indeed Gills) fans planning on using the M25 this weekend should be aware that it's going to be an absolute nightmare due to maintenance work on the Dartford Crossing

http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/1...Crossing_s_QEII_Bridge_to_close_this_weekend/

Now the public service announcement is out of the way, onto the game. If ever there was a game for us to wish for to break our terrible form, you would think it would be Crewe at home. However, Crewe have an annoying habit of winning at Priestfield regardless of ability, so it's a tricky little fixture to have. No idea what's happening with the injury to Jackson, but Dack and Egan are still weeks away (maybe a return for the Coventry game in a month). Leaves us with the same squad that went to Scunthorpe and didn't bother attacking. I'd expect a similar starting 11, I just hope Chicksen doesn't start and the front two is Norris and Samuel. Might even be worth giving McGlashan a start and going 3 at the back, something along the lines of:

Nelson
Morris - El-Abd - Ehmer
McGlashan - Loft - Wright - Dickenson
Williams
Norris - Samuel

G.Morris, Garmston, Osadebe, Donnelly, List, Hessenthaler and Oldaker/Jackson if fit.

I can unfortunately see a pretty dour draw.

That link says the bridge will be open by 6am on Saturday and won't close again until 10pm? Not sure why the traffic will be dodgy when our coaches want to cross? I know that it'll be slow moving because, hey, its the M25, but I don't see it being a nightmare.

Trains are more problematic. Line closed after Strood, which means I'll have to get a flaming bus for that last bit of the journey. Wonderful.

Not expecting anything from this game, not even sure on the team as one of our reporters reckons Davis and Ray will both start in this game should they get through tonights U21 game. If it means going with 3 at the back with Nugent being dropped, fine. But if they replace both Nugent and Guthrie, I'll be extremely fucked off. 3 at the back would make sense, but I don't know what shape we'd go with upfront. Does Hitchcock drop to the bench? Does Inman go down the middle with Cooper in behind and we rely on the wing backs for width? Dunno. Be very interesting to see the team.

No offence to Gillingham but they were another team I wasn't overly impressed by when they came to Gresty Road. Should have got a 0-0 draw but they won it with a screamer in the 90th minute(like a lot of teams this season). I'm a little more optimistic with Dack and Egan out, but with the likes of Samuel, McGlashan(who usually has a good game against us), Norris and Donnelly, they should still run out easy winners in this one.

Living down here, you learn to take the times they suggest with a pinch of salt. Even so, like you say you should probably be ok, but it's just a heads up really just in case!

2-0 Gillingham and a repeat of last season's game.

However we usually have a habit of taking wins off each other in the season, so you never know. Even if our team is a load of shite.

As long as Crewe do not sign Nick Powell on loan, we should actually win this (not holding my breath tho')

I remember us playing Crewe the game after you had just sold Rob Hulse. I was quite hopeful of a win as no one else was scoring for you. A young kid called Ashton banged in a stunning goal to win it.

For as long as I can remember, if Crewe produce a decent talent then they'll score a belter against us at some point. Powell, Ashton, Murphy, Maynard and David Vaughan spring to mind. I fully expect George Ray to belt in a 30 yarder on saturday.

Was having a discussion with our fans yesterday and I'm genuinely astounded most of them want Davis to remain manager next season. We've only won 1 game since late November which would see most managers sacked and yet there is just no viable opposition to Davis. We truly are a pathetic club and our demise warrants accelerating. There is no ambition throughout the whole of the club and I'll include a sizable chunk of our own support too.

George Ray has more chance of belting in a stupid own goal, lanky giraffe necked shithouse.

Vs

Remember the moments both of them went in.

Nick Powell was incredible that day. The day he looked destined to go and piss away his career in the Premier League.

Our best position in the table for 16 years, yet I have simply lost interest at the moment, didn't even know who we were playing this weekend. 2016 needs to buck its ideas up pronto.

This is a must win as our play off position is in serious threat.

Have no doubt Crewe will come for a point and put 11 men behind the ball from minute 1

Daddy's boy subbed at HT, can only imagine it's due to injury/lack of fitness surely? Or has Steve finally realised his son is a pile of steaming horseshit!

That'll do, not back to our best but dominated and deservedly won. Two more injuries to senior players though. I

Anyone who can't see our management are clueless and out of their depth is either blind or stupid. Why did Fox come back in, he's been shut for ages. Why did the a solid pairing of Turton and Jones in midfield last week get broken up? Why did Ng get dropped? Why did Davis start? Why did Nugent start? Why did Guthrie get pushed out of position as per? Why start Bakayogo at LW? Why go 4-4-2 when 5-3-2 made so much more sense? Davis and Collins are the most clueless, deluded and moronic pair of fuckwits to have ever graced football management.

We looked better when Davis went off, Cooper moved to the middle and Kirk came on at LW. But will Davis take heed of this and make some changes for next week? Will he fuck as like! Another sackless, pathetic shambles of a performance, yet plenty of the fans who went today clapped them off. Clapped them off! After a terrible 3-0 defeat! The fans get the club they deserve. They have had ample chances all season plus the forum to question the manager, but no. Blind faith and support for no reason. If anyone thinks this group will magically turn it round in L2 is going to get a big shock next season.

As for Gillingham, they were yet another team that didn't have to play that well to dominate us and win comfortably. I am sick to death of our club and I'm probably going to wash my hands in the summer. Finances are going to be tight next season, I can't justify giving up hundreds of pounds on a season ticket, away travel etc. for no reward. If they give me a reason to renew, I will. But at the moment, there is no sense in investing a single penny in next season.

Gillingham was the place I stopped doing long distance aways until Davis gets sacked last season, started to realise watching us every week wasn't worth the money then. Fast forward 18 months and I still can't believe him and Clipboard are in charge with their pathetic brand of football and I can't believe fans applaud our spineless bastards off.

It'll take us losing to Blackpool convincingly to have some home fans re-thinking about Davis and dare I say it, a heavy defeat at Vale Park would be the worst situation for Davis, he'll lose the fanbase if we're outplayed there guaranteed.

Didn't need to get out of 2nd gear, Crewe were poor, quite possibly the worst side at priestfield this season, when they go down can't see them coming back anytime soon

I'd love every single happy clappy academy fan stuck in 1996 to be shoved in a car, driven round for 12 hours, mugged for roughly £100 and then forced to sit through a DVD of that absolute shower of shite today. Preferably 46 times over. Then see what a unique fucking club we are.

Am I right in thinking we finished the game with only 2 proper defenders?

It's not looking good for Crewe considering who we've recently lost points to. A club I've often admired, but it looks a right mess at the moment.

Glad to be back on track though.

Yep, although to be fair we only started with 2 as well! El Abd and Ehmer joined by Aaron Morris (who was superb) as a back 3, with two actual wingers as wing backs. Garmston went left side of the back 3 in the second half when El Abd went off and it worked! Thought Dickenson was brilliant yesterday, his work rate and desire is second to none.

Hopefully, but anyone would've beaten Crewe yesterday!

Tough run of games now though - Southend (A), Bury (A), Coventry (H), Sheff Utd (A), Walsall (H) and Vale (H) as the next 6.

Our fanbase is embarrassing, we've won 9 out of our last 53 games in all competitions and yet our players STILL get clapped off by some.

I find this ridiculous, but I'm going to guess that it is one of two things:

-The ones who clap just love watching the Alex, simply aren't too bothered about the game or the season as they really enjoy the day out and know that come rain, shine or in a monsoon; they would still turn up every week.

-Or, they are extremely blind, can't think for themselves and actually believe the embarrassingly poor PR that the club releases on a weekly basis. If this is the case then they deserve everything they get.

If it is the second one, then it makes me feel sad for those who travelled down yesterday, to watch another spineless display and have figured out that the club, is in fact, a complete and utter shambles.

It's no wonder that Steve Davis appears to have the safest job in league football.
