Not sure if this has been mentioned on another thread but goal-line technology is to be used in all EFL play-off games this season.

On the subject of this how come it’s used in the Champioship but not Leagues 1 and 2. We’re all EFL aren’t we? Surely it should be the same.
totally agree mate. Could it be down to cost (personally wouldn't have thought so in England) or possibly/probably that these leagues aren't thought of as being as important ? On a similar line why should V.A.R. be used in certain games but not others (I deplore the excuse that it is still a kind of 'experiment' and still developing)). Personally I dislike V.A.R. greatly.....(apologies for deviating)

I do think it’s down to cost no doubt at this level but if we haven’t got it then the Championship shouldn’t have it. Same as it’s use in the FA Cup at Prem grounds. Not 100% sure if it’s just for all Premier league ties or just any game at a Prem ground but that shouldn’t be allowed either.

VAR is a completely different discussion and one I can’t be arsed going over again. Right up at the top of my list with the Checkatrade trophy of things that need scrapping.

Agree with Dickie but I can sort of understand why it's used in the Championship, and that's all down to prize money. The promoted clubs get an eye watering amount for going up and with all that money at stake the FA will do all it can to ensure the integrity of that league.

Just imagine your club missing out on millions only because the lino didn't give a perfectly good goal. I'm not saying L1 and L2 are not important or anything, but the fact is that much much more is at stake in the CHP.

I'm not hugely bothered by it not being in all grounds this low down. We didn't have a single incident this season where the ball looked to have gone in and it wasn't given, at either end.

In the play-off finals, it makes sense. You don't want your season to come down to a blown call like that.

We could've done with it in the Conference a few times, we once had a goal given against us at Altrincham that barely even got to the line let alone crossed it.

Or Wrexham away at Kidderminster when a shot went in but went through a hole in the side netting and the ref didn't give it despite everyone celebrating.

I remember one not given, not sure if it was League 2 where the ball hit one of the net support poles at the back of the net and bounced straight out as though it had hit the post.

Not bothered about goal-line technology, if we get it cool, if we don't then football has prospered fine without if for over a century.

Maybe us at Mansfield should consider building a 4th stand, or getting one of our two scoreboards to work before we bother with any of that fancy lark
