This will be our first win since 9th Dec 2017, just 18 games ago.

The worm has turned and a new era is about to start.

Free flowing, attacking football is the order of the day and our natural flair will shine through like a lighthouse beacon. 3-0 to the Mariners!

Yup when I heard Chesterfield had equalised against 10 men I fully expected them to win so a bit of a lifeline for us that Vale winner.

It’s the best we’ve played for some time, but that just shows how bad we’ve been. We had 3 excellent chances in the first half that were all wasted. I don’t know if they’re that low on confidence or if we’re just that bad.

I was certain that it’d come back to bite us and it very nearly did, when Stevenage hit the post and we scrambled it off the line. It was their only chance. Apart from that, we were solid defensively but Stevenage weren’t up to much at all. Wycombe will be so much more difficult on Monday.

Our standouts were Andrew Fox, Danny Collins and Luke Summerfield. We need better than Mitch Rose and JJ Hooper in the team. Hope Sean McAllister is back in the team and I’d consider starting Scott Vernon, just because he’s our most intelligent striker (if not the quickest, strongest of best finisher). Ideally we want Simeon Jackson back but he’s at least a week away.

Over 5000 there again today. The club cannot use a lack of support as an excuse. The Chesterfield game is the biggest in our history.

I thought with JJ Hooper yesterday he looked up for it and kept running for a change, even if he doesn't have the quality.
And the block from Collins after their header hit the post was outstanding, I didn't realise at the time how good it was until I watched the highlights last night.
I'm trying to feel positive about things today, even though it's pretty hard to.
