A quick chance to bounce back after Saturdays non-performance at Morecambe. MB has hinted at a few changes but whoever plays need to perform far better than we did on Saurday.

Anyway Col U are above us in the table so we usually beat teams above us and just lose to the ones below us.

Another home game on Saturday v Wycombe so I'm expecting 4 points (at least) from these next 2 games.

Someone at work said he'd heard that Bignot's going for a midfield 3 of Disley Clements and Osborne with Jones and Dom Vose up front.
Sounds a bit strange but different I suppose so not something Colchester would've worked on preparing to face that team.
I fancy us to win tonight.

We will probably lose this. We have the second best home record in the division but we're poor away, and as I mentioned in the promotion thread we're running on empty at the moment and I don't think we look like lasting the pace.

There's currently 12 players out injured, and two who are playing with an injury. 10 of those 14 players would usually start I would say, so it's a big hit to any fourth division side and it's made us look quite disjointed and as though we're almost winging it a bit, having to dig in and grind out results despite looking exhausted. I think our strongest team would be capable of pushing for the top three when fit, but I think we'll tail off now and eventually finish 10-12th.

Home win.

Mhmm well Vose on the bench and Disley not even in the squad, my mate at work needs a new source I think!

Looks like we can add Richard Brindley to that injury list as well now. Joke.

Marginally better than Saturday but not by much. An important 3 points though.

It did make me smile towards the end of the game when the only person keeping up with play when we broke was the referee!

First half was utter utter shit. Second half we sorta knew we were shit so we set up to keep 10 men behind the ball and defend for our lives. Somehow it worked.

Dyson ran his socks off bless him and gave us our only quality moment in the entire game with another great burst into the box. Col U looked good and I thought it would take a miracle for them to not score but once we went 10 at the back we coped well enough.

I guess I'd rather play terrible and win than play terrible and lose.

Predictable really, and I think Guthrie's injury is going to prove really costly to the season for us.

Is that Sam Jones first goal for Grimsby?
Indeed. Has looked good so far but not spectacular. Hard working with some obvious talent but not looking entirely comfortable where he's playing in our system, don't ask me where or what that's meant to be either because nobody knows at the minute.
