Just wanted to say my hellos in preparation for our immenant relegation to this league.
I've supported Cov fifty odd years and this by far is the lowest I've ever felt following this once proud club.
All I hope for the start of next year is to start with new owners and a new manager with a young and passionate team, but I can't see the first bit happening so I'd take no more Russel Slade and a team largely made up from our decent academy and U23's.
Slade is by far the worst manager I've seen at the club, hoofball with run and chase, would be being kind to describe the tactics. We have got to get rid to stand any chance of a decent first season here.
Regarding where we may be playing well definately first season at the Ricoh but rumours are strong that the second season will either be at the rugby blue with a capacity of 5000 or at local side Nuneaton Town.
The club is in a massive mess I could write a volume of books on it so I won't bore you with the details.
Anyway strangely looking forward to finally getting relegated confirmed so we can start planning for next season.
I look forward to joining you full time shortly and speaking with you next season and visiting most of your fine grounds, places I've never been to ,so that's one thing to oook forward to.
All the best for rest of the season and see you near the start of next season.

Why do some supporters of a more mature age (and I include a lot of Luton fans in this), have to tell you how many years they've supported a particular club, almost like they have a more rounded opinion of something?

Kenny, no offence intended I just wanted to tell a bit about myself.
Whether young or old matters not who knows more about football, it's just doesn't come into it regarding more rounded opinions.
Everyone's opinion is as valid as the next and the one after that etc.
I certainly don't think I know more than the next man, just wanted to say hello that's all.

Hi Rev
if things conspire to confirm relegation and you end up down here then your input regarding football matters will be gratefully received
Don't be put off already by condescending posters who should be a bit more respectful.theyre allowed their opinions of course but don't reflect the majority I'm sure

Thanks oakroader, I took no offence from Kenny.
Been to your ground quite a few times and looking forward to going again, it seems your club is on the up again with regards to the new ground which I love will be in the town centre.
What I didn't like about us moving to the Ricoh was it's on the outskirts and most of our fans agree that's the major thing we miss about Highfield Road.
The rugby club is bang in the middle right by the train station so if we move there that will be a major plus to have back.
There is a big season ticket boycott going on for next season with most now saying away games only until SISU decide to finally go, so I'm positive we will be bringing big numbers to all of your grounds, apart from the compulsory few idiots we have a fine approachable following ready to enjoy next season.

obviously sad for the supporters of clubs when they get relegated but with private ownership this is what you have to expect ultimately. we've seen a lot of "big" clubs over the years spend some time down here in the basement. just gotta hope you dont end up like Darlington and the like.

if you think it's bad now, trust me, it can get a lot lot worse.

Yes , it's ridiculous ....37 years ago when I first started supporting Pools , nobody used to bang on about how long they had been supporting the team

Hi Rev. The good news is that Orient are getting relegated, so you'll be able to push Blackpool into second place on the 'worst owners in the division' table.

Amazing to think two seasons ago you looked like certainties to go up to the Championship. You had a good side in that season, I know you took us apart in one game.
I'm flabbergasted at you and the speed of your demise.
I hope all ends well, but with shit owners you have to somehow get through it and one day get your club back, though at times it seems this will never happen.
Good luck next year and stick with them.

We've never played Coventry City in our history, so I suppose we'll both have something to look forward to next season.
You know if you end up playing at Nuneaton Town next season that they're having a dispute with the local rugby club, who have resorted to blocking the turnstiles with rubbish skips!

There should be some good away crowds at Coventry next year as I guess it will be the first time playing at The Ricoh for a lot of our clubs.
I've been to Highfield Road before but never to The Ricoh so I will definitely be giving that one a go and I would guess a lot of others will be the same.

Just sacked our third manager of the season, but thank the lord Russell Slade has gone.
On to our fourth manger and I'm waiting for our first new manger bounce, we haven't had one yet.
I wonder why we are bottom of the league !

You may outnumber home fans, as there is a big campaign to boycott season tickets next season.
I said yesterday our away numbers will be big, as most are doing away only, the ones who rarely travel will now be doing jusyt away for their football fix.
You all may miss out on the Ricoh, home of Wasps, as its likely Nuneaton Town or the local Rugby club as our contract does have one year left on it at the Ricoh but they are due to stat court proceedings against the council and Wasps concerning the way they bought the stadium.
To tell you the truth we are in a complete mess and no idea whats happening daily as the club do not communicate with anyone, but expect big away followings I'm certain of that

Yes the situation is well known in the Cov area, that's why we think SISU will make a bid on the playing at the stadium, they are waiting for Nuneaton to be expelled we think

I went to watch Grimsby at Coventry when Strachan was your manager and before the game we were in a pub talking to Coventry fans and they were all hoping Grimsby would win so Strachan would get the sack.
When we went 1-0 up we all started singing 'we want Strachan out' and then all the Coventry fans started joining in.
He was sacked a day or two after (The game finished 1-0 but you hit the post twice second half) with you mid table in the Championship, a million miles away from where you have ended up now eh?

If you guys can't get your house in order, then sadly you will be going the same way we are - Relegated out of the League.

It may not happen straight away, but it will come eventually as we have found out here at Brisbane Road.

Good Luck though.

I can't see how Coventry City can play at Nuneaton's ground as it is. It's nowhere near Football League standard.

I remember the closing spell of Strachan, give the bloke his due he had passion for our club but he seemed to lose the plot.
I live in Norfolk so I'm the right side of the country for trips to you and most likely Lincoln, what's the away day like in Grimsby, it's a ground I've never been to and I've heard the fish and chips are the best in the UK.
Do you have brain dead fans like we have, though it's a minority nowadays thankfully, I can imagine the pubs are great in your town.
Pardon my ignorance but I'm sure you have a central town stadium as well. I'm looking forward to coming to see the ground, though I'm sure I heard you hand planning for an out of town new stadium, if you have don't go there it will kill the days experience
Plus my mother in law lives in Lincoln so I have a bed for the night when we play them

Terminator it's an absolute disgrace what happened at Orient. As I said you had a really good team just two seasons ago, what the hell happened I don't know as you were nailed on for promotion.
I've been to Brisbane Road a few times, some to see Cov play, but sometimes me and my Dad were in London working and we would stay on after work to watch a game at your place. A really old style fantastic stadium, well before the flats came in at the corner.
I think you are the second oldest London club, if I'm wrong I apologise, but you must fight for your club, I'm concerned the owners may want the club to die so they can develop the land for housing/ commercial development, is this a worry for you ?
Like us you must stick with your team however low we fall, one day it will get better ,that's our only hope.
If Cov went down to conference North I'd still be there, as long as one day we can rid ourselves of the owners.

Yeah same as you we have a few morons but definitely in the minority here.
You have got our stadium situation the wrong way round there, we currently play in Cleethorpes but have plans for a new ground in Grimsby:

And yeah the fish and chips in Grimsby and Cleethorpes, amazing! :gr:

Take it from a fan of another "big club" for this level. It gets worse down here.

The tinpot sides in this division will play for a draw, everyone else will raise their game against you and with SISU running your club into the ground, I'm not sure how you're going to attract players and even if you do, they probably won't care.

We managed to get rid of Chainrai and co. when we were relegated from League One but we had two awful seasons down here after that. We're now in our fourth season here and still might not escape.

The first season may be a novelty because of the new grounds and that, but it soon becomes tiresome, especially when you find yourselves on the wrong end of a hammering by the likes of Accrington Stanley.

Yes of course the famous sorts quiz question ,who is the only league club not to play home games in there home town.
I'm totally out of touch, though I'm pleased that I remembered that you are after a new stadium in town.

Until you have been in the Conference, you really will never know just how good we have it in league 2.

Took us a long time to get used to this league. First obvious point is that you will have a target on your backs, to some clubs you will be their cup final. Second, the teams that get out are not necessarily the best at football, in fact, forget trying to play tippy tappy entertaining football. You'll look good but won't get to the playoffs. Third, this is a physical league, you'll need lots of streetwise hard headed experienced players. Buy guys that have been in this division for years.
Fourth, get it wrong and purdah awaits - we got blooming close to this in our first two years. Key message is recruit a number of hornery handed sons of the soil who are experienced at mixing it in this league.
