Help an American see some football

A friend will be in Greater London on 27th August and wants to see a Premier League game, if possible. He is willing to settle for the Championship if necessary.

He has reviewed the schedule and is aware of his options that day - Spurs, Palace, Chelsea, Watford, or Brentford.

How would you recommend that he acquire (single-game) tickets?

Is it really a matter of visiting several team websites on a regular basis, hoping that tickets for a particular game are offered to the public? So far that seems to be the best and only way. We have already learned that "scalping" football tickets is against the law.

You've got no chance of getting a Spurs or Chelsea ticket unless you go via a third party website that will charge a ridiculous mark up on the actual price. Not sure how Watford sell but you should be able to get one, certainly would for Brentford.

Better, more real atmosphere at Brentford than Chelsea/Spurs anyway

He doesn't have to stay in London to see a game, it's quick to get about in England.
