Thought you might like that title VM when you perusing the thread. Two sets of ghastly fans meeting up again following the carnage in March.

A lot less important this time, we can either be 16th or maybe 12th depending on the result. Heady heights.

Sort of glad that Grimsby won in the week as we like to give teams a leg up when not playing well .
Oyeleke being out is huge for us as we look terrible without him, i guess a point is okay away from home and surely McKeown can't play how he did in March.

The trouble traumatised me so much that i am not going tomorrow :bl: but i'll be watching the goals show checking out my coupon.
I think i'll go for the same result 1-1 with 268 Vale in attendance and zero buses of loonies as they are all keeping their powder dry until Oldham in a fortnight.

Big game this and one we really need to look to win with the current set of fixtures throwing us the hardest challenges all at once!

If we play as we did the four or five games previous to Tuesday I am confident we will pick up a good result, play as we did Tuesday we wont!

Hopefully with the away monkey off our back last time out we can build on that here, think Grimsby are as bad at home as we had been away!

Losing Manny is a massive blow and the overall injury list is concerning with Pope, Whitfield missing training and Gibbons, Montano and Quigley out.

Hopefully Whitefield and Pope make it (sounds like Pope hasn't been training anyway to protect him) so same positive XI as previous if so with Hardcastle in for Manny.

I might give this one a miss as I’m TERRIFIED that the Port Vale HOOLIGANS may attack me and my boy and such is how SCARED I am that I need to put it into CAPITAL letters to make you all UNDERSTAND!

Anyway I can see a 1-1 draw here.

The win on Tuesday was huge and the first half was as good as we've seen all season, going forward at least. We're still very suspect at the back but having two actual full-backs on the pitch for the first time this season helped us keep a little bit of shape. Seeing as Vernam played 90 minutes I can't see Jolley starting him again considering how obsessed he is with being 100% fresh, but it might open up for Pringle to start. Hessenthaler also got a full rest which could prove beneficial.

Being realistic I think a draw would be an okay result considering how bad our home form is. We could do with a home win asap and this is a great opportunity to but we need to let go of the idea of turning things around overnight and see the small gradual improvements as they come. Winning 2 on the bounce after a 6 game losing streak can't be an expectation.

Its been made all ticket for away fans so imagine any travelling for a rook won't actually be in the ground this time, although strangely some of the 'VLF' went in the Tranmere home end and unfurled a flag so you never know.

Stupidity, never see these guys follow us unless at a local game or one where the opponents have an element.

Genuinely stunned if any trouble. I know that last year 2 bus loads went up relatively early.
Most of the loons are going to Oldham in a couple of weeks as it's one of the ' old boys ' stag do , so tomorrow I anticipate is die hards only hence my 268 visitors prediction.
The return is Boxing day and hopefully everyone in Christmas mode and joyful !!

A lot of the troublemakers who went up last season weren't even Vale fans, I know of a few. Just some part time Stoke fans or gloryhunters who went for a piss up and to be nawty.

Would love to know who these so called part time Stoke fans were as my mate ran the buses and I can assure you that no lardies were on those buses.
And as for gloryhunters ? What glory ?
Watching Vale nor scrapping can be described as glory

Most of the fans that have caused the trouble have been given banning orders. It wasnt even put on the vale site untill wednesday that the match has been made all ticket and theres people who wanted go but now cant and werent aware of it. I doubt we have even sold 200 tickets.

They were on the train. Glory hunters as in they support Prem teams.

Always had a feeling you were a yob associate though.

The only 'non-Vale fans' were the HSV lads who were over with us. The very idea of us running with Stoke shows you're either a WUM or very daft,

Team news is out and we've gone very defensive by recalling Kay, Worrall and Hardcastle for Miller, Manny and Whitfield.

We're going for a 0-0 and we're up shit creek if we go 1-0 down early.

Shit line up that is again without Manny we brick it. One up front against a side that have barely won at home in 2018... defensive midfielders in for two attacking players. Poor from Aspin. Lose this and he won’t be very popular tonight.

We've named the same line-up as Tuesday and it might actually be the first time we've kept an unchanged side this season. Hopefully Vernam and Embleton can keep causing problems. Hooper starts against his former club to show them what they're missing and sadly what we're enduring. Good time for him to actually do something today.

A win here would be huge, as Tuesday showed that we were so close to conceding and we are still uneasy in defence and wasteful in attack. Hopefully Vernam and Embleton can cause trouble today. Surely Thomas and/or Hooper have to get off the mark soon. A loss wouldn’t be season-over stuff but it means Tuesday meant nothing. We simply can’t afford another non-performance at home, however.

Am I allowed to get my excuses in now ?
Absolutely staggering team selection, negative in the extreme.
How has Kay suddenly jumped ahead of Joyce ! Hardcastle is a sideways crab.

Really awful team on paper, stand by for continual hoofs up to Pope.

Hope I'm made to eat my words but this has Port Vale nil written all over it

Baffling, most baffling of the season. Set up as though we are away at a Championship club. Why not keep the attacking line up that served us well in the decent form we’ve had?!?

Not even as though he has set up to break with pace leaving Whitfield and Kanu out. Lose this with Lincoln at home then two very tough away games and all of a sudden the good form will mean nothing.

Only at Vale could we finally win away with a positive line up so go to our next Away game and set up Uber negative.

Got to half time 1-0 at least hopefully means we will chuck Miller and Whitfield on and really have a go. Sounds like we’ve had chances but gifted them a goal with a daft back pass.

Vale look a lot better in possession without looking too dangerous while we look very messy in possession but could've had few more goals. That was our good half though so it's far from over.

We won’t threaten with one attacker on!
