Not sure whether your respective clubs' website has produced such figures, but this is what next season has in store for Latics (yes, that's OIdham and not the plastic c*** from Wigan):

Team (miles)

Rochdale (6)
Bury (12)
Wigan Athletic (28)
Bradford City (30)
Sheffield United (40)
Barnsley (42)
Crewe Alexandra (46)
Chesterfield (50)
Port Vale (53)
Blackpool (55)
Fleetwood Town (60)
Doncaster Rovers (66)
Burton Albion (81)
Scunthorpe United (81)
Shrewsbury Town (84)
Walsall (88)
Coventry City (115)
Peterborough United (146)
Swindon Town (171)
Millwall (223)
Colchester United (234)
Southend United (244)
Gillingham (251)

Total distance of 2,206 (round trip is 4,412)

What a northern league eh? 16 of the 23 other League 1 clubs less than 90miles away!

I'd imagine that will mean our away followings next season will improve (unless Darren Kelly turns out to be a Dave Penney / Paul Dickov / Brian Talbot hybrid).

Roll on next season...

Can't be arsed to calculate ours, it is too fucking depressing, but Millwall have posted on their site that they will be travelling 7,586 miles so I guess we will be very similar or maybe a bit further.
Around about 8,000 bloody miles then.

Haha, fucking hell. That's almost double ours!

Wonder if it plays a part as teams reach the back end of the season?

Don't think we have had such low mileage since back in the Unibond league in 2002/3 season !
Really looking forward to next season home and away !

Someone on our forum said 3,138 miles.

But Bury's twitter says about 4,400

I thought Burton was a lot closer to Stoke than Coventry.
It is closer and much easier to get to than Coventry, Port Vale's ground is on the north western side of Stoke. Just to give you an idea I drove back from close to the Britannia stadium this morning and it took me half hour, its a straight run up the A50.
Its great for us to have so many local games within an hours reach(9), another 10 within about 1 1/2 hours and the only long treks are Colchester, Gillingham, Southend and Millwall.
Only 6 new grounds for me, that's grounds watching Albion away, Walsall, Blackpool, Millwall, the other 3 Doncaster, Wigan and Colchester I have seen us play them at the old grounds, Belle Vue, Layer road and Springfield Park, the 1st one in the Conference and the other 2 in the FA Trophy, The visit to Springfield park being many many years ago !

Due to having family in both Stoke and Burton, I have done both journeys and I hate them both!

Big following to Coventry then?!

Big following ? Er.../ well a big following for us is probably 500 to 1,000 to the Ricoh ! So small for this league, as its local if we are doing well we could be in that zone. Would imagine and from talking to others our away following will increase this year, particularly with so many games within easy reach. What sort of numbers would you expect the Sky blues to bring to the Pirelli ?

I'm hoping it's the opening day fixture. Never been Burton in my entire life

Think you get 1,800, 1,400 standing behind the goal and 400 in the adjacent seats.
Some decent pubs for you to enjoy but not a lot else ! Nice easy journey down the A444 or M1 and A50.
Went to Highfield road twice and been the Ricoh once, preferred the old ground to be honest.

We all prefer the old ground!

We should sell out 1800. Would be brilliant if it is the first game of the season.

Station is quite a walk if I remember rightly?

Bout 20 minutes, turn left out of station then 1st right and keep on walking up Derby street, over the Derby turn island and carry on along Derby road and it takes you straight to the Pirelli stadium. If you miss the 1st right turn and take the 2nd you may think you are in Pakistan or the 3rd world !
1st game would be brilliant as I think we would get 5,500 to 6,000 but fixtures usually throw up a long haul 1st game so expecting Millwall, Colchester, Southend or Gillingham !
