Correct me if im wrong, but div 2 footballers are on about 60 grand annually, a fortune by ordinary standards. Cambridge won at Grimsby saturday because they were promised a free Nandos if they won. Our home form is good because the players get a Nandos on a friday night. Win bonuses etc dont seem to work. 60 grand is not enough to get them out of bed.

Maybe someone should offer a toy before our next away game, maybe we could top the league next year courtesy of toys are us, Macdonalds, or that Italian chain that serves crap.

It'll probably be the morale boost from the pat on the back players get, feels a bit more personal and heartfelt than a win bonus which just appears in your account the payday following a win.

Think 60 grand is a high number though, the mean is probably below that and the median below that still.

Depends which club I suppose, even Morecombe have a average wage of around £1,000 P/W.

We often have car launches where I work which requires employees to stay on untill 10/11 pm. Dealership principal orders around 30 pizzas in and everyone's happy.

Yeah, it was definitely the Nando's mate and nothing to do with coming up against one of the more erratic teams in the division.

Maybe it's just that Matt Rhead knows the layout of Nandos Lincoln, making it difficult for anyone else to get a look in. Put him in Nandos Carlisle or Cheltenham and there's a chance everyone else can use the brief moment of confusion to get their order in ahead of him.

Reminds me of the playoff final, a larger than life family of FGR buying an assortment of meats from one of the street food places, before proceeding to quickly walk into a group of Tranmere fans when the FGR fan cam came into sight.

food, be it burgers, fish and chips, kebabs, indian, chinese etc. Worth bearing in mind when you come down in a couple of weeks. Might bump into me getting some pre match fuel in if you're lucky.

I blame Colin Calderwood for this nandos nonsense. I rather suspect he was so sure we wouldn't be getting anything at Grimsby that he offered to pay for the players' nandos if they win the game. He probably wanted to look cool or something and instead ended up looking like a chump if you ask me. Basically, the only thing that this whole thing implies is that Calderwood can only motivate his players by promising them a free nandos meal
